mapperson
Would like to add a driveway car sensor to the system. Needs to work at about 500 feet from the house and the nearest network device. Could add a few devices between here and there, but most would still have to zig zag and be about 250 feet between each. Suggestions????Thanks
diamonddesign
I've used Mier with success (not at that distance before but the hard line should work).http://www.mierproducts.com

mapperson
Thanks - hoping to find a good wireless solution. On both sides of the drive are sprinklers, invisible dog fence wires, and the landscaping guys seem to find every wire on the property between edging and aerating. R_Willis
http://www.dakotaalert.com/catb2b1/product_info.php?cPath=47&products_id=124&osCsid=lg62da0jij9gab5rm2rbn8ddo1I use that. My driveway is about 200' long. My C4 gear and the base unit for the driveway sensor are all in the basement and everything works fine.ONLY downside being this sensor can't tell whether a car is coming or going, works flawless otherwise.I have programming that fires a "car in driveway" announcement and a picture of a car in a driveway on the touchscreens and any tv that would happen to be on. RAV
Dakota's makes great wireless units. For direction you can use up to 4 probes/senders to one receiver. Range of the DCPA-2500 is AMAZING!
fprefect
I've been using an STI wireless unit for a little over a year. I have the 12v trigger connected to a cheap auto relay connected to one of my HC300's. The unit is about 200' up the driveway and the receiver is in a back room of the house - the alarm can be a bit annoying, but it can be silenced... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004184TEU/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&redirect=true
