PorterTX got a reaction from Jakelay in Apple TV 4K via C4 won’t accept 4K settings
To add to @tekki70comments I would look for HDMI cables that are 4K HDR with 18Gbps capable especially if your TV and any other related equipment (av receiver, baluns etc) support HDR.  Those are easily found on Amazon and other sites but as he stated ALL cables in the chain as well as equipment must be compatible.
If your TV and other equipment supports HDR, a tip for the Apple TV is to make the following changes in the video/audio settings in the ATV menu:
Set resolution to 4K SDR (even if your TV supports HDR) as this will not force non-HDR content to display in HDR and look washed out.
In the Match Content setting Turn On the Match Frame Rate and Dynamic Range setting

@Dueportthanks for asking this question as I have wondered about this same thing for some time but have been too lazy to ask.
@lippavisualI am trying to get a better understanding of what you said about all the actions need to be bound to a driver's connections.  Is that a specific request I need to make from my dealer?  Meaning I have Composer HE and six button keypads that are setup and working for lights & audio.  I didn't know if that capability is already there and I just need to create it in Programing or have additional dealer help?  Speaking of where is "follow last button" located in HE?

Bindings all depend on what you're trying to accomplish.  Binding lights or lighting scenes has better, quicker, granular control when a button is bound to said light or scene vs. programming it.
Also, this is assuming you're using the newer Gen3 keypads and not the original 6-button keypads.  See below for examples

The up/down arrow keys need to be set as "follow last button press" in order to do what your asking for multiple device control.  It will work exactly as you describe, press lamp button, then up/down will dim.  Same with music button, up/down on volume control.  All of these actions do need to be bound to a driver's connections in order to achieve this.
All newer gen buttons/dimmers/switches support single/double/triple actions.
They do offer a keypad switch, but only in EU, nothing for USA.  Dimmer only.  The dimmers can be set for instant on/off of a load, but the same dimming principles apply.  The load must be capable of dimming.  Don't expect to use it for fluorescent lighting in the garage or anything.  Could easily damage the dimmer or ballasts.

make sure all hdmi cables are 4k capable, and all devices must be 4k capable as well. older devices also may be 4k but certain ports were 4k, not all ports. then check the settings in your devices to make sure 4k is turned on. you could also connect each wire to the tv directly to test the hdmi's, then work work backwards to find the culprit causing your issue

It is well worth it to have all the sensors added (door, window, motion etc).  Mitch recently helped me those other sensors as well as my smoke detectors (hard wired DSC versions) and now I have a much better line of sight as to what is going on in the house in a easier to read format (C4 app under locks and sensors).

you need a dealer to buy it and install it - an end user cannot install drivers with Composer HE
once installed you can do the programming (in this case change names of devices) with the driver

Nothing wireless (without a security system) that I'm aware of. You COULD use a security one if you have a wire there to connect it (probably needs to be a 4-wire version), though I'm not sure I'd recommend it for a life-saving device.
Standard 2-wire connection on older panels if memory serves (PGM1 being able to be set to use for 2-wire smoke) - assuming the alarm system is integrated, should be possible to send whatever you want on a fire alarm situation, or at least in any alarm situation with a read-out of the type of alarm.

I use the native C4 SiriusXM service for whole home and it works great (I think minimum requirement is OS 2.10).  I finally get more use out of now thanks to adding it to the system.

    Essentials line:
-look slightly different (as I'm sure you saw from the pictures)
-no top & bottom LEDs, just one LED on bottom which is configurable to some degree
    -no backlighting/etched buttons
-they come in white, however they DO actually offer color change kits for $5 extra to change them to Black, Light Almond, or Snow White
-they have a dimmer (Forward Phase Only, no Adaptive Phase like regular line), or a switch (on/off)
-are $85 msrp for dimmer or switch, so yes they are a significant savings over regular.
-as Mitch said you can mix & match but I wouldn't put them right next to each other unless you aren't too worried about things matching aesthetically.

PorterTX reacted to eggzlot in Somfy blind motors
I had issues with MyLink when I first got it - it was always dropping too.  This was maybe ~18 months ago.  Make sure the firmware is up to date, I think it was 5.20 or 5.21 or something fixed a lot of my issues.  Furthermore, because it can be fickle, if you have a few Access points, create a new SSID called Somfy and only enable it on 1 AP.  and you can hide it too so the public doesnt see it.  Connect the mylink to that new SSID called somfy.  it wont try to hop between APs.  That was my issue, it was hopping between my APs and therefore dropping.  The firmware update helped but to make it rock solid, just put it on its own SSID.
The 3rd party drive I referenced wont help with your mylink falling offline.  that said once I moved to its own SSID and did the firmware its been perfect.  the 3rd party driver will allow for % openings so that is nice as you can set that up with custom buttons in c4, etc.  if you always only go down and up full open and full close maybe you don't need the 3rd party driver.  the driver does add some other functionality though too so read the documentation provided on that link.

I think you are right about that being the only option with Sonos.  Either a Sonos Amp, Sonos Connect (newer version called Port) or a Play5 through the line in.

PorterTX got a reaction from storm7 in control 4 maintenance costs
Agree with all that is said above. There are many great dealers on this forum who are incredibly knowledgeable and extremely efficient with their time.  I believe with most you don't have a minimum service call fee (like you would with a physical local dealer who rolls up in a truck) and just bill on the quarter hour.  I have found this remote dealer relationship to be fantastic if you are even slightly technically inclined and willing to do some work on your end (physical installs or using Composer HE). All that said, there are great local dealers as well but it nice to know you have some choices with Control4 which I believe is not the case with some of the competition.
I finally bought Composer last year but hands down wish I would have purchased it from the beginning as you can do so much yourself and save money.    If you are not aware the 1st time you buy Composer (from a dealer) the cost is roughly $150 but that includes your a year of 4Sight so you are basically getting the software for $50 which will pay for itself the 1st time you use it.
If your HC250 is on the latest 2.10.6 and you have the "Add Music" feature/driver installed you can add any of the Control4 supported native music services anytime you want.  There are a good number of them available with most of the major ones are supported in some form.  I ditched my Sonos connect boxes a couple of years back and just use Control4 equipment for streaming and it is great.
