They don't 'operate in LUA'. LUA is a language used for the project and drivers several layers above the OS. Just because they interact with a project the same way doesn't mean they're the same platforms.

7 years of support is good in electronics.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPhone
~7 years ago the iPhone 5 was released, they ended support in 2017.   Just shy of 5 years
Cost of replacing an iPhone is basically the same cost of an EA3  - $1,000?  So if they supported your HC800 for ~7 years and it still works sans a few options, is that truly that bad?  They are not forcing you to retire the HC800.

7-year-old technology is an aggressive refresh cycle? What other 7-year-old electronics do you expect to have the latest and greatest features?

i purchased my appliances a year ago.  I'm not sure if today's appliances come with WiFi built in.  The module i pictured above is a sub-zero module, but was purchased after the fact.
I have come to learn that the driver that was mentioned previously on this forum was for a discontinued module.  There is no C4 driver available today for this specific module.  So for now, we can only use the consumer app on a mobile device.  I'm hopeful it will change soon.

No. But they are on eBay for 60 - 100. I’ll pick one up. This was one of the things my wife actually wanted so I’ll try it.

Picked up a valve and two leak sensors at Lowe’s a while back for $60. I haven’t installed them yet but I guess I should.

I just recently installed a Leaksmart system with about 15 sensors in a house. Seems to work pretty well. Didn't integrate it with control4 however so i can't speak to that part.

I'm having modules installed literally as we speak.  There will be modules for the fridge, freezer, oven and drawer fridges.
According to the wolf rep I can remote start ovens, monitor temps, etc.
I'll report back on what it can and cannot do in both the native app and C4.

Our TP-Link suite now supports inwall switches, inwall dimmers, various outlets, powerboards and a whole range of smart bulbs including RGB bulbs and color temp bulbs.  Really happy with the TP-Link range of products and will continue to integrate the products as they come out with new stuff.

I'm pretty sure control4 will release a driver as an alternate option soon.  If anything, there might be something in beta for now but with limitations.
I can look into it if interested.

Or if you have a C4 matrix with audio sensing, you can program some other ways for less voice commands.  But I find this approach to be the easiest.

The hopper has 2 NIC’s so it could be that someone changed the network connection. The MAC address is saved in the hardware. It’s not changing.

I purchased the HS210 kit which comes with 2 switches.  Its a great deal.  I paid about $50  and it works perfectly on a 3-way switch.  In fact you only need to replace one switch in the 3-way circuit.  You can leave the others at dumb switches and it the TP-link switch works perfectly.  It senses and reports correctly when a dumb switch turns off the circuit.  This is much better than my other C4 implementation which requires at C4 switch and a keypad to make a 3-way work... and way less expensive.   My c4 switches have been going strong almost 10 years... but they are dying one at a time.   I am replacing these with TP-link switches... way more economical and the chowmain driver works perfectly.   I dont need triple tap and led colors and all of that.  I dont think that extra functionality is worth the premium paid.
These TP-Link switches are the truth.  Plus Alexa integration out of the box.  Pretty nice.   Thanks Alan.

I actually ordered a HS220 from amazon along with a step down transformer.  The HS220 is different from the LB range so had to develop a new driver specific to that.  It is currently in beta and will be released once i do some more changes to the other TP-Link drivers.  At this stage it is scheduled for a March release as i will be away in europe / ISE for a while starting next week.

Thats exciting to hear development on the hs220. I tried getting it to work with the existing driver but it wasn't very stable and ended up returning them. I would love to be able to add some of these!

I got it to work using the HS driver.  I will try it with the LB to get dimming to work properly.

I have the charger and never have to worry about batteries. I suggest looking into converting over to rechargeable. I believe you can buy a conversion kit with battery pack, cover and charger.

msgreenf reacted to jackstone in A good RGB LED Control solution for Control4 is there
For those using this DMX solution, take a look at the latest update now available at Houselogix. The version 2.2.0 is basically a major maintenance version that does not add any new feature but address every single issue reported or discovered over time. It also brings a lot of effort to keep your DMX Light status in sync (despite DMX is an unidirectional protocol), so any of your Group Dimmers or ColorChanger will remain at the right status even if you play with the lights using another dimmer. It also fixe once and for all the Scene Tracking issue that was there since the beginning, now your Advanced Lightning scene will become "Active" even with tons of DMX lights in it. Oh, and the ColorPicker aspect ratio is now fixed for full screen view on T3, no more overscan border.. and lastly the ColorPicker will look a lot nicer on iOS device.

This is not a mandatory update, but if you've experienced the scene activation issue, definitively go ahead and update.
Also included a Quickstart guide since many people are just getting into DMX with zero to no knowledge, so this may help to get your system to work.
