Oh ok.  So you want an IO extender that can run a project.  I honestly don't really see a huge need for that.  With so many things going IP controlled these days I tend to have to sell additional controllers for more audio streams before I need more IO these days.

That sounds a lot like an IO extender which hasn't changed in forever outside of a slightly refreshed V2.

Awesome.  Great.  So I can keep the panel just change the connection path to the C4 system.

App is a whole new app. So you have to download a new app. It won't break you with an auto update

Control4 supported those touchscreens for 9 years of system enhancements!
No, they're not cheap, but they lasted, and they didn't loose functionality, and they still function just fine if you don't have to have the latest GUI.

motion sensor in the front yard for feral and bad neighbors relieving their animals in my front lawn. The sprinklers always seem to come on at the worst of times.

Whistle on the yard speakers if the dogs are barking too much will spook them and shut them up promptly.

I think it's fair for Control4 to EOL a 9 year old product.  It's also fair for me to not invest in a product that costs $900 per screen plus installation cost.

That's the great part about c4 if you don't want to update you don't have to! No cloud to force it on you!

I will say fav SiriusXM channels to the home screen of my bedroom is pretty sweet

The swipe to change rooms feature works well, especially in a house with a few open floor plan rooms with different audio zones / lighting devices.  The Audio Sessions functionality (not talked about much in reviews I've read) also helps tremendously in managing multiple audio zones, much better than the former 'Audio Zones' functionality it replaced.
The Lighting filter options are also great, I've long wanted the ability to only show the lights that are currently on, when it comes to shutting down lights at night, it's quite handy.
I know I'm not exactly unbiased (as a Control4 employee), but I love the new interface, and I ended up purchasing (yes, at employee cost, so not as big a hit) 5 additional touchscreens for my house, and ended up rewriting a driver for myself that wasn't supported (due to old tunerv1 interface).

You can run the Android app on an Android emulator on your desktop (assuming the Play Store works on your emulator).

Control4's touchscreen / onscreen UI has not been flash for literally *years*.
MyHomePC was the UI from the previous generation of Control4 UI.
Control4's UI is also not HTML5-based, it's 'native', Android-based on Control4 touchscreens and Android devices, and iOS-based on iOS devices, just like the previous generation '2.x interface'.  HTML5-based interfaces have their own unique set of challenges on top of standard UI challenges, that a native (Android/iOS) interface doesn't have.
I think Control4 has made the best decision for their UI in OS3.0.  It's fantastic.
Also, driver developers have had some limited ability to make HTML interfaces for Control4 touchscreens for some time, although it's limited to touchscreens only, not available on Android/iOS (phone/tablet) apps, and there are other limitations, in terms of having that UI integrate smoothly with Control4's native interfaces.

As mentioned in a different controversial thread, there are no plans to discontinue ComposerHE in OS3.0.

Exactly WHY would an onscreen nav require 4K?

Just curious. How is there going to be a 4K on-screen UI when the specs for the EA series controllers only shows supported output of 1080?
Maybe (hopefully) Control4 was sandbagging the spec and the boxes actually have the hardware to support 4K output, but if not some of the conjecture above just doesn’t make sense.

As others state, Ari is the man. Not only for programming, but also got me a great deal on some cameras and a NVR.   He definitely went above and beyond when adding my cameras to my system.

    You can't confirm that.
And if you actually could confirm that or not, you would be breaking the law. So, let's say you DO have an inside source. You're risking their job and/or their freedom by sharing this.
Conjecture is great. Pretending to have official word when there is no official word is not. It's pretentious and annoying, and if you're actually right, it's reckless.
