msgreenf reacted to alanchow in Chowmain - TP-Link Wifi Smart Home Driver Suite
I just tested again to be sure that its working. LB bulbs we have here are working fine (we have three - one per type).
It is poll based so it does take time (depends on your poll rate). The new protocol is UDP rather than TCP and UDP is not as reliable for getting data back. I would check your network to make sure that UDP packets are being routed correctly.

Have replicated the problem and have fixed it. Also realised that i did not update the HS220 driver to the new protocol as well. Updated and tested that as well.
Also added HS200 as a seperate driver rather than using the HS1XX driver + outlet light driver for easier programming and also a few other tidbits that have been reported / asked for.
Pushed out the update to all systems.

Sounds like it's hidden. Is digital audio hidden in the other rooms and the Wmb hidden?

msgreenf reacted to RyanE in Control4 Dimmer and LED bulb
I haven't had too many troubles with any LED lighting and Gen1 dimmers, as long as the lights were marked as 'dimmable'.
But, with anything so new and with so many manufacturers, your mileage may vary.

msgreenf reacted to alanchow in Chowmain - TP-Link Wifi Smart Home Driver Suite
TP-Link pushed out a control breaking firmware over the weekend. We are happy to say that we have updated the drivers to resolve issues and have pushed it out to all sites. As such it should be invisible to the majority of people. Note this should only effect people using the TP-Link HS1XX driver and the TP-Link Light Bulb driver.

msgreenf reacted to eggzlot in Time conditionals?
yep no problem
i have 1-2 keypad buttons in my house using the same concept (just different times) but yeah just use the scheduler to change a variable state and then program off that variable state. 99% of the programming I have done in C4 (not my dealer) is based on T/F variable logic. I keep it simple :-) Mostly because I do not understand the other types of variables!

Or you can just update the driver to the latest which has button bindings (introduced two versions ago)

I'd probably just do OTA/DVR if there weren't a stinking honkin' huge mountain in between me and Farnsworth Peak (where the 'big 5' stations transmit from here in Utah).
But since I have cable, I do like getting college sports.

my wife likes diverse content - its not even like its weekly shows - she gets enjoyment out of finding bad 80's movies or sitcoms she watched years ago to watch again for mindless entertainment. so her span of channels is large. Basically I think its a no win game - stick with Altice and suffer internet issues, move to Fios and lose some service and do an unsupported set up or go streaming and wife isnt happy. There is really no clear cut winner. Though price is a factor, some of this is also hardware/IT related and not just how many channels can I get for the cheapest price. I am a sports guy but for months I had Hulu and did not realize I do not get MSG - maybe because the Knicks and Devils are so bad. But the funny part, the Theater at MSG is called The Hulu Live Theater! Yet Hulu does not have MSG channel - go figure. Anyways the point is I can even deal with less sports - I just find myself watching less and less. So it is a balancing act to keep the wife happy with the service she is used to having but also not messing up our network by using crappy ISP hardware.

Well Altice TV + Fios Internet is very expensive.
Altice Internet is substandard.
Fios really limits your ability to use your own hardware, you can easily get Double NAT or there are workarounds but then you start to lose On Demand services or ability to use the Fios Apps, etc

As promised we got this working. Problem was a missing app on the iPhone.
For anyone struggling to get the Apple TV 4k driver working make sure the Apple home app is installed and stays installed.

you are programming your system into a loop. You really want that to be on a timer and check the temp like every 5 minutes or something

You need to have 2 audio paths to your reciever to play 2 simultaneous streams.

Depends on how you setup the driver central driver and the sky driver.

YES!
ISP routers are just not built to handle smart home systems. This is not a Control4 system, or even an 'pro' system thing - this is a general rule. With the amount of wireless devices people tend to have these days, this is even starting to show up without smart home setups.
While they can have decent or even good WiFi coverage and/or speed, and good through-put overall, the issue happens in the concurrent connections which ISP routers, and for that matter many if no most (though not all) consumer off the shelf routers just aren't able to handle.
What you see is devices falling off line, even if only briefly in the best of cases, potentially causing all sorts of 'odd' behaviours.
