For me, I Have a Spotify driver in each of my rooms. Spotify is started from a phone and sent to a room from the Spotify app. Control4 turns on the zone. 
I also Have  groups of zones , like “whole house”. So I can send Spotify to all rooms. 

I don't understand it. It seems like apple does this every few years and no one bats an eye but anyone else and it's like they are killing your first born.

Sounds like watch and listen were accidentally removed from the rooms favorites. In OS3 you can remove any icons from the room screen by pressing and holding in the app or T3s.

If looking to save money, the legacy 16x16 matrix is still a active product on OS3 and will sort out source distribution cheaply.
 
Similarly the 8 and 4 amps but any amp will do.
 
Doing it right with modern kit would be the triad matrix and amps.
 

I would just sell all of your sonos and put a matrix and an amp and now you have perfectly integrated music streaming services from control4
I cant tell you how many others have done this including myself. It hurt a little to ditch my sonos but once I started using c4 to interact with the music services in muliple zones the pain went away

Honestly I don't see the huge deal with putting a word like "guest", "master", "kitchen", "bar" etc before light on/off etc. yeah it's another word but not that bad. Just make it intuitive.

This is true but for rooms like bathrooms and bedrooms, especially guest bedrooms, it's nice to have simple voice control. My primary Amazon account is still linked to my Dots in my main living spaces. So far, for me, the biggest downside is that every time you Discover Devices on a Dot you have to go into that Dots account and remove the unwanted Scenes again.

I'm not replying except to say that I have 3 heos sound bars, heos link and heos 1.
The biggest thing I stressed to you when we first talked was pick one eco system and stick with it. all heos, all Sonos, or all control4 audio. But when you try to mix them and pass audio between them you're never going to be successful

You can save a bunch of Spotify playlists to Control4 through the Spotify Connect driver and then play them from Control4 directly, without having to use the Spotify app. It's less powerful than the Deezer integration but much more seamless than AirPlay. I wouldn't characterise it as worthless.

If it’s a plenum ceiling, those devices are not plenum rated.

The TP-Link Kasa integration using the Chowmain driver is excellent, as are all of Alan's drivers.
We use the TP-Link Kasa smart plugs in our showroom for various devices and they have been great.
That said, the C4 switches are not overpriced, they just offer better integration and control that you get from a third party solution.
