I wouldn’t delete a PM from someone offering to install this driver in my system 😉

That is the best way to do.

This driver simplifies everything. One of my top drivers

Documentation is not in the driver, it's in the PDF attached to the zip -

No problem - yes the original system was designed to ensure no need for an online connection. The new one is a hybrid, so covers scenarios with no connection and with a connection.

the lack of clear documentation on what devices, what controllers, what os versions, what driver versions is the most confusing part of this whole thing

This happens but when the consequences are severe and identified weeks ago, developer silence is not cool.

I had the driver forget name now....geofencing.... that locked up my system, so nothing new.

You were in the best of hands with Mitch. Nothing intimidates him and he has such tenacity. Good for you pal. Glad Mitch got you going. Enjoy and happy automating!

I was in a deep funk - you may have read some of my posts here about taking over a C4 install after a recent home purchase. It was a disaster - all the lights in a single room, old never-updated drivers, no real "cool" parts of c4 working .... and then Mitch saved the day. And a lot of dollars! Mitch did a great health-check, got me squared away, did some composer/HE review and set my system in tip-top shape.
No more IR drivers! Roku Channels (Netflix, Hulu, etc..) right on the remote! Cool sounds play in the house when the Ring detects motion!
Thanks, Mitch! Highly recommend.

msgreenf got a reaction from StacyCoolabode in Don't deal with BasicUser
User asked me to upgrade him and install the new Apple TV driver. We haggled over the price. Then agreed on a price lower then my normal upgrade fee. I did the upgrade but his Apple TV isn't pairing properly. Now he is backing out of paying and offering me $15. After working with him for over an hour.
An insult. Please don't help him on this forum.

msgreenf reacted to Matt Lowe in Control4 and YouTube TV - Some questions
Great depending on your system version you can have a dealer add youtube tv or any other streaming services as a shortcut on your remote. Pm for details.

msgreenf reacted to RobG in Pentair Intellicenter Device Offline
So we have an intellicenter that has been configured and works online via Pentair App but now trying to integrate it with Control4. When installing driver to project and putting the ip address of the intellicenter it says "Device Offline. Trying to Connect". What am I missing? Anyone here integrated a Intellicenter with Control4?

msgreenf got a reaction from Time2Jet in Making Voice Control Smarter (both Alexa and Google)
Use the native skills for devices that support them. Disable them in the Control4 skill.
Think of voice scenes as virtual devices.

msgreenf reacted to Crustyloafer in Programming best practices Switch lights for Music...
This is what the 'Room Control' driver makes easy. I regularly use it to program a button to cycle between multiple presets/favourite playlists/stations and alter the LED colour according depending on which preset has been selected. I also program the same button to just illuminate white if a Listen device is selected but is not one of the presets. A double tap of same button does a 'Room Off' to stop any music and the LED goes black.
Here is an example of my Kitchen keypad.
Top button: Kitchen + Dining Lights
Button 2: Kitchen Light
Button 3: Dining Light
Button 4: Music Button
Up/Down: Volume control of currently selected source
and a video demonstration of it working here:

What firmware version?
Springs aren’t supported above 2.6.

Idk. This is a home automation forum... I say pull it out. Who needs a suspension at all? -

msgreenf reacted to brucecampbell in Roku
I just purchased today from Amazon for a good price (weird they still don't ship to NZ even though they now have a presence here.)
Alexa devices are available in store in NZ, however Roku is not.
I got the Roku Premiere, so I'm hoping my wifi is up to scratch.
