Ok. Thanks! Will check it out shortly. -

msgreenf reacted to sonic30101 in Light to relay driver
There was a houselogix one but I dont think there is currently one out there. Chowmain has relay to light but not the other way around for quick binding/dropdown driver setup to get around additional programing with conditionals

msgreenf reacted to Crustyloafer in Anyone Using ARC Baluns?
The AVPro Edge AC-EX100-444 also have optical inputs and outputs on them for audio return, why not just use those and avoid the headache of trying to get ARC and anything else that involves having CEC turned on to work reliably.

msgreenf reacted to Riverguy in not control4 doorbell integration
I use a Axxess Industries doorbell. Quick and cheap doorbell that comes with a Control4 driver for free. No wires and the battery lasts 9 months with regular use. Has an integrated temperature and contact sensor too.

https://www.poetexas.com/collections/all-products/ports_24-port
Get 3-4 proper spec’d Midspans. Then you can use any switch.
most normal PoE switches have a max power draw. So a typical (again not all) 48 port PoE doesn’t mean all 48 ports are PoE. The overall switch has a max wattage and once that is used up that’s it
let The Midspan handle your power needs. They make smaller ones so can get a few 24 port and then 16 port etc. can span them over a few server racks for flexibility etc

msgreenf reacted to -defunct- in Possible to export controller statistics (CPU, memory, etc)? (re: Grafana, InfluxDB, etc)
It does not from what I have read.
Curious what the use of monitoring the controller would be? Shouldn't need it. You don't monitor the cpu of a Roku...

msgreenf reacted to Matt Lowe in Can't connect to C4 anymore
if you have ecobee driver from driver labs it needs to be removed.
This would be some a dealer should be doing to make sure the correct elements are all removed.

sounds like a bad driver if it works for a minute then stops

We have one project with an EA-1 running 32 zigbee lights, 4 SR-260s, 7 Sonos devices, 5 IP controlled TVs, 2 IP controlled AVRs, 2 IP controlled Blu-rays, an NVR with 6 IP cams, a DS2, DSC IT-100, Hunter Douglas PowerView Hub with 6 shades, and a MatterLink (IP to RF hub) with control of 5 motorized screens.
You’ll be fine lol.

msgreenf reacted to Matt Lowe in TP-Link HS200 vs C4-SW120277
if aesthics are not top of the list look into buying older c4 lighting on ebay can usually get it for cheap. Or if its a closet lutron has some switch with built occupancy. cant control them with your phone but do you really need to if they auto on and off?

msgreenf reacted to Cyknight in Roku
That doesn't mean there's a dynamic API to load that information, update it and force it to the system.
This is why I'm not so sure we'll truly see it happen.
I'm not going to claim to know where the issue lies - but I suspect it's somthing like this - C4 doesnt' want to implement a solution that needs CONSTANT tinkering and driver updates (as in, possibly weekly) to account for chaning infrastructure - Roku isn't willing to share it's info on how IT implements it's search right now (because it's giving them an edge) - streming services don't want it because they risk losing advertisement

msgreenf reacted to alanchow in Chowmain - Bond Bridge controls Somfy Shades, RF Ceiling Fans, Fireplaces and more!
UPDATE
Added new generic device type with on/off experience button and relay binding (so you can bind any motorised device driver to it).
You have a toggle code. There is no way for you to make this a discrete code or a macro. Best bet is to just put in an experience button and tie in programming to fire the command. That way you have control but you will not know if it is on or off.

msgreenf got a reaction from Time2Jet in Mixing C4 Lighting Gens?
with switches you really shouldn't have an issue. With dimmers depending on the light load the old dimmers might not behave as well as the new dimmers

msgreenf reacted to THawes in Axis vs Hikvision vs Amcrest for outdoor POE
Bear in mind, if these cameras are allowed to get out to the internet (even if you are not doing port forwarding to allow remote connections in to them) they can phone home and be connected to remotely. An adjustment of your NAT or firewall rules for the network you're on, and instantly they are more secure than before.
Again, they might get bored quick watching - but hey, figured I'd throw it out there!
