  1. Chowmain - Anthem MRX-520 / MRX-720 / MRX-1120 and AVM-60 Driver Chowmain launches FREE Anthem MRX driver for Control4 supporting the MRX-520, MRX-720, MRX-1120 and AVM-60 models. Anthem’s award-winning Third Generation MRX Series of high-end multi-channel A/V receivers are known the world over for their excellent sound quality, efficient power handling, and the ease with which they integrate into an entertainment system. The MRX Series is packed with exclusive audio innovations like Anthem Room Correction (ARC®) Technology and Advanced Load Monitoring (ALM) Technology, 4K Pass-Through with fast HDMI switching and more. The MRX driver for Control4 allows the following functionality. Features IP & RS232 control (19200 baud no flow control) Auto Room On when manually switched to Play-Fi input (eg Spotify starts a stream remotely) or Tuner input Speaker Profile control from Navigator Commands - Both Zones - Volume Up/Down/Set, Mute On/Off/Toggle, Set Input, Power On/Off Commands - Main Zone Only - Set Audio Listening Modes, Set Speaker Profile Tuner - Tune Up / Down, Seek Up / Down, Preset Up / Down, Direct Tune, Select Preset Keypad Button Maps - Key 0-9, Info, Up / Down / Left / Right / Select, Page Up / Page Down, Cancel (Last command), Menu (Setup command) Mappable Buttons - Mode, Dim Level, Tone, Bass, Treble, Lip Sync, Balance, Dynamics, Clear, Preset Front Panel Brightness Discrete Balance Up/Down/Discrete Bass Up/Down/Discrete Treble FAQ What cool things can we do with this driver? Starting PlayFi from another device will cause Control4 to automatically select PlayFi as the source for the room. This is useful for Spotify Connect and other PlayFi sources where you would initiate it from the Spotify app or PlayFi app. Once the MRX changes to the PlayFi input Control4 will detect it and automatically select PlayFi as the source in any room that has the MRX as the audio endpoint. This allows you to control volume, mute, select speaker profiles, surround modes or to room off. FM media lists can be loaded for direct selection of FM stations from Control4 navigator. Speaker profiles can be selected from Navigator with names and feedback on which profile is currently selected. What products will this work for? This driver is designed to work with the MRX-520, MRX-720, MRX-1120 and AVM-60 How do I buy the driver? This driver is sponsored by Anthem AV and is free of charge. How do I find out more information about the driver? Please see the links below for more information about the driver. Chowmain Website
  2. I've honestly just used a Control4 Z2IO with the garage door motor i already have. Most garage door openers already have inputs which you can wire into so its easy.
  3. FYI MyQ is the reason why Control4 told all 3rd party developers to stop reverse engineering APIs. Its caused them alot of pain.
  4. Yeah they even charge for IFTTT integration! https://www.myq.com/ifttt
  5. At this stage we don't support DVRs. We only support IP cameras connected to NVRs and IP cameras directly.
  6. We pull in all event functionality that your cameras spit out. You will need to configure this in the camera first before the driver can detect it. So if your cameras support line crossing, motion detection, etc then the driver will support it.
  7. We asked them to improve their API so we can do this. At present it is a list based API where we say select index and it moves to a different level. As such there is no discrete way of selecting a particular album, station, track, etc programmatically.
  8. As Oppo discontinued production of bluray players back in 2018 we arn't implementing new features. If you are looking for a media player compatible with Control4 we recommend Zappiti. In fact the Zappiti Pro 4k HDR is up there in performance to the UDP-203 (I heard from a distributor that they actually hired Oppo engineers to make the Pro 4k). https://hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/audio-player/media-players/zappiti-pro-4k-hdr-media-player-review/ http://chowmainsoft.com/zappiti-control4

  10. Thats one of the many models we support. Wish that particular model was available worldwide as it is a killer product. At under $30usd MSRP it is a great price point! In-wall for the win!
  11. i would also wire it up to be interlocking as well just in case for some reason you have both directions going at the same time.
  12. Sounds like you’re hosting the web content externally. If so then you should be in the clear. Nothing wrong with using getprojectitems. good work!
  13. Here is a snippet from my conversations with Control4 a few years back. This is what we evetually agreed was ok for us to do and the rough strategy of what we have been doing since (this is how our scheduler works, contact us, advanced custom buttons works)
  14. Its an official Control4 API. As such no approval required (unless he is reverse engineering the Control4 broker communications or using the soon to be deprecated C4SOAP calls). Having said that Control4 did tell us off a few years back for hosting web content on the controllers (even though it wasn't using a real web server - just a server socket) which is why we moved newer drivers to our online hosting services but still using extremely basic web based callbacks. Would probably reach out about that part to get their blessing.
  15. You’ll probably need to find a Control4 smart home pro to come and troubleshoot the problem. The Control4 website has a locator so you can find one in your local area
  16. Never heard of that model but it may be compatible with our Benq universal projector driver https://www.chowmainsoft.com/benq-control4
  17. Chowmain launches massive update to the FREE Lithe Audio driver for Control4. This update adds the ability to browse supported streaming services directly from any Control4 navigator. Haven't seen Lithe Audio Wi-Fi ceiling speakers before? These amazing speakers are easy to retrofit as they have a 60W RMS amplifier and have Wi-Fi connectivity built-in. Theres no need for speaker cables or servers. Stream your favorite Tidal, Deezer, Tune-In or vTuner audio from any Control4 navigator. Have an iPhone? The speakers have Airplay built in as well! Use Spotify? Send audio via spotify connect from your spotify app on Android / iOS or PC.
  18. you will lose bi-directional feedback if you use the original remote as the Bond Bridge only sends RF. It doesn't receive it.
  19. If you are going to invest in a Minka fan get one of the Minka-Aire Smart Fans. This has Bond technology built in. Just install the fan and the driver and you're ready to rock and roll. https://www.minkagroup.net/smart-fan/
  20. Whose IFTT service. I'm looking to add my Blueair purifiers as they have IFTT We wrote a bi-directional driver for IFTTT a while back. Here it is http://www.chowmainsoft.com/ifttt
  21. Hi guys, We are starting a series of informational newsletters that we have named SMART HOME PRO TIPS. We will send this out through our Control4 mailing list in hopes that we can pass on the knowledge and educate both integrators and consumers about which products to choose from and what to do to create the ultimate smart home! In our first issue we talk about how easy it is to integrate ceiling fans with Control4 using technology from Bond and BIg Ass Fans. If you arn't subscribed to our newsletter you can view the first issue via the following link. https://mailchi.mp/chowmainsoft/smart-home-pro-tips-easy-ceiling-fan-control4-integration
  22. For my place i just use IFTTT with the announcements agent and that just works for doorbells and motion (motion i use for turning my porch light on).
  23. You know you can save this via device variables right? Save a device variable into a variable and then set the device variable afterwards. This has always been the case with Control4 even since the early OS 1 days.
  24. Assuming the motion sensor is your normal security sensor then I would go with a hard wired PIR if possible as you won't need to change batteries. Since you've already got the cabling there then connecting the replacement motion sensor (if it actually has gone faulty) to a Control4 input (on the back of a controlller, io extender, etc) or Control4 compatible security system. If however its one of those motion sensing lights then as @mujtaba.khokhar mentions putting in puck with a nyce sensor will work.
