  1. Chowmain - Lightwave RF Driver for Control4 Over the last decade, Lightwave has helped pioneer a revolution in home heating, lighting and power control: the ‘smart home’. Just a few years ago, the idea that your home could be enhanced by smartphone apps or voice control may have seemed out of reach, but with Lightwave it is here today. Lightwave devices look smart and act smart. Behind the sleek exterior, built-in wireless technology allows all of our devices to communicate, via the Lightwave Link Plus hub Lightwave is a modular system, so you can start with just a single device, or control a whole appartment suite. All you need to get started is their smart hub: the Link Plus Lightwave is simple to install as it is based on ‘retrofit’ technology which uses the same wiring and backboxes as standard fittings. Once installed, dimmers and sockets can be operated using traditional manual buttons as well as bi-directional control through Control4 using the Chowmain Lightwave driver. 2. I don't know. If you have one you can try out our driver for a period of 90 days prior to licence purchase.
  3. Yes for best experience you should probably hide the original remote and install Control4 compatible keypads on the wall for control.
  4. That is correct. Bond Bridge is a one-way device. It will only replicate and send RF signals. It will not detect RF signals and update state. If however you have a Smart By Bond device then it is two-way as all the smarts are built in (it doesn’t need to send/detect RF).
  5. That is correct. It was never designed to be a full blown replacement for Navigator nor was it designed to be a full API. It is designed for quick macros. Since it doesn't have to open up any 3rd party apps (like Control4s app) it pretty much executes the command instantly from when you select the shortcut.
  6. We also have drivers for Kodi and Plex as well. Though both of these require some knowledge on setup and ripping of content.
  7. Kaleidescape is defiantely the best by a long shot but as everyone has already mentioned it is pricey. You do get what you pay for and if you have a cinema with masking and different projection modes i highly recommend getting Kaleidescape as with our driver you can automate the masking / projection modes to suit the movie it is playing. Our current recommendationas are Kaleidescape if you can afford it and Zappiti for everyone else.
  8. Zappiti is my current favourite. I’ve been developing drivers for media players for years and this is just plug and play with automatic library management integrated into Control4 for selection on any Control4 navigator. Supporting almost all video and audio formats, codecs and file containers, including all modern video standards such as HDMI 2.0, Ultra HD 4K, HDR, 3D subtitles and HEVC video codec with one billion colors (10-Bit color encoding), the Zappiti 4K HDR media player range sets an entirely new standard. The top class Zappiti Duo 4K HDR is equipped with an internal 3.5" SATA HDD bay with hot swap function for huge total capacity (up to 32 TB) and offers powerful Wi-Fi 5G and Ethernet gigabit network capability. The Zappiti 4K HDR media players are compatible with most audio and video formats such as UHD ISO, BD ISO, M2TS, MKV 4K, MVC 3D with 3D subtitles, BD and UHD menus support, home theater audio (including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X) and high-resolution lossless audio files http://www.chowmainsoft.com/zappiti-control4
  9. Anthem contracted us to develop MDX, MRX, STR drivers. These drivers are provided for free and are available on our website. We also have a service contract which them which means we provide support for their drivers.
  10. I am getting quite a few enquiries about how to integrate iOS shortcuts with our updated Generic TCP Command driver. As such i have updated the documentation to walk programmers through how it works with Control4. Note that this can be done fully in Composer HE edition for those who have HE. http://www.chowmainsoft.com/s/Chowmain-Generic-TCP-Command-Driver-Installation-Guide-tb62.pdf
  11. Anthem used another developer in the past for their MRX drivers and they had problems with the driver they developed. As such they approached us about developing a solid driver which we did and released a few months back. Has had extensive testing by ourselves, Anthem and a bucketload of dealers. An additional feature we added in that wasn't speced in the scope was that the driver automatically turns on the system when Playfi is detected. Pretty neat.
  12. UPDATE Added smart mode programming with heating, cooling and off values. Tie this to Heating, Cooling and Off HVAC modes to assist distribute of hot or cold air from your HVAC system.
  13. You can't do that with Cbus which is why many people utilise Cbus for base architecture and then add on a system like Control4 on top. Having said that Schneider was in the process of introducing another Lua based layer on top of Cbus to act as a gateway. They reached out to us about a year or so ago to ask us to develop for their platform. This will provide an additional layer which will make it a bit more expandable.
  14. Similar to Ryan’s but a bit easier to program as you don’t need to use variables. Just program the events the web server address is in the drivers properties. i suggest you try it out. We give a 90 day trial so that should be plenty of time for you to figure out if it suits your requirements or not.
  15. The driver allows you to create an infinite amount of events which you can program against. the events are the endpoint on the url. eg you create an event called lightsOn. You add programming to lightsOn and finally you do a get request to the endpoint http://ipaddress:port/lightsOn
  16. UPDATE Version #20200714 – 14-JUL-2020 Added support for HEX based TCP and UDP commands (can be in the format of "00 11 22" or "0x00 0x11 0x22" or "001122" Added inbound HTTP GET control. Fixed issue where driver didn't disconnect TCP connection once it sent the command.
  17. UPDATE Updated to implement Whoosh, Direction and Auto commands into the programming tab for fans and lights.
  18. wow you must really like the little mermaid Answers 1 - We don’t get any of that information so we can’t do that. 2 - We may be able to get that info and display it on the synopsis page but definitely not in the browse pages.
  19. I replicated your problem. Its an iOS bug with Control4s app due to short timeouts on metadata. I'll report it to them and hopefully they'll resolve it in the next build. In regards to submenus theres not much i can do about that. Zappiti has a browse style API. This means that when you select an item it returns a list of content and so on.
  20. I understand what it is and how it works and we've utilised those methods for other camera manufacturers. Honestly i didn't write this driver so i'm not the best person to comment or support this. Your best bet is to reach out to our support desk where it'll be assigned to Justin who wrote the driver. Note he doesn't read forums so ticket or if you prefer call our office during Australian Eastern business hours for support.
  21. FYI connecting audio to the controller causes it to be digitised and sent throughout the network. Even if it comes out of the same controller. What this means is that you will experience lip sync issues if you plan on syncing video and audio up. To get around this please connect it directly to the amplifier instead.
  22. Our Belkin Wemo driver though does have instant feedback and could possibly be used for this. I haven't tried it myself though.
