The version is 20210406. I checked and can see that quite alot of people have updated to this version so i am going to assume it auto-updated correctly (given the large numbers on that version). If you are not on that version manually update it.

You don’t need automation in the same way you don’t need power windows in your car. It just makes life easier.

You'll need to capture logs and send it to our helpdesk for us to troubleshoot. If it is intermittent then the only thing i can think of is network replated issues. Thing that comes to mind is some people try to reboot their network with it but don't understand that without the network Control4 cannot send an on command to it to turn it back on again.

I like supporting them as they provide excellent customer service to us and all of our dealers / end users. mine has been working solid since I got it. Running on solar and got it scheduled based on sunset / sunrise apart from when it’s a day hotter than 25 degrees c where it won’t open. Integrates perfectly via Bond.

Yes that is correct. It is poll based and yes the time is adjustable. Honestly though for the application you want it for what difference is there for an additional 30 seconds in the worse case? I'm sure its just in case you forget to turn off the lights / fans. If you want instant feedback you'll need to go with another product as we do not get that with TP-Link products.

Everythings working fine at my place (i have it activating my porch lights when ring detects motion every night). Please lodge a ticket on our helpdesk and the support agent will ask you to provide us with remote access. Once this is done we can review whats going on. Also please make sure you are on the latest version of the driver. We had issues a year or so ago which was solved.

If you want local integration then you just need a contact and a relay that is integrated into Control4. If you have zigbee then my recommendation is a Z2IO as you can do both using the one device. You will need to supply a Reed Switch to monitor the door. If however you can get cabling from your controller then you may be able to use the contact and relay on the controller depending on the controller you have.
