But that doesn't make it a C4 endpoint. That makes it an audio endpoint for Alexa audio.

Except that there are synergies in HA that don't exist as much in the other areas. Having one system that controls lighting, video, audio, blinds, fireplace, garage door, security, thermostat, cameras, etc leads to an overall solution that is greater than the sum of the parts.

While you're at it, it would be really nice for me to win the lottery.  I think that's more likely, even if I don't enter lotteries.

I saw that too. My neighbors being down was a coincidence. A reboot fixed it.

For Motion and Pressed Event history, you need to enable the properties.
For the Push Notifications to work, you need to ensure that your camera's authentication is set to 'Basic'.  You can either do this via the camera's property page, and/or through the DS2's web interface.  You of course need to also setup the push notification with the proper camera attachment.

Well, he is correct.  Not all Control4 drivers will auto update, but more and more as time goes on, with the goal of most 'current' DriverWorks drivers being able to auto update.

Yes, drivers can now auto update, if they're installed / available in Control4's online database.  That said, not all drivers will auto update going forward.
3rd-party drivers manage their own updates, independent of Control4, and may or may not automatically update.
    Such a non-useful answer...

    Cyknight +1
The only thing an HC800 can't do in 3.x is GUI
Could you swap directors, yes, but there's no reason to, and you'll loose processing overhead, especially in the audio side.
The only 'oddity' with the merge is that OS3.x will require the merged app shortly once fully baked, where OS2.x systems will still use the split app. An advantage to the split apps is that you could have say a caretaker have the intercom app but not the Control4 app, allowing them to answer the gate, but not adjust lighting for instance.

OK this needs to be clarified.
First, 'Intercom anywhere' isn't GOING AWAY in OS3. The two apps Control4 currently has for end-users, the Intercom Anywhere App and the Control4 app are being MERGED into a single app so that you don't need ot have two apps, and possibly switch from one to the other (to open a door or gate for example)
This has NOTHING to do with what is running your system's operating system. In fact it doesn't even really have anything to do with the operating system at all to begin with.
You WILL NOT 'lose' any intercom capability because you're running an HC800 vs an EA1. Not right now, not when the apps are merged in iOS like they are now on Android, and not that I in any way know of in the near future.

There is an updated driver that should be released shortly, that may fix this issue, along with others.

RyanE got a reaction from msgreenf in HOW TO PROGRAM FAVORITE DIRECTV CHANNELS TO NEEO REMOTE?
Just to clarify, to favorite a channel, you must tap and hold from an Android or iOS device (Control4 touchscreen, phone, tablet)...
There's no creating favorites on the Neeo itself.  Any favorites (channels or otherwise) created on a touchscreen or phone, etc. will show up on the Neeo if it's supported (cameras, security panel, etc. are not supported).

From a DIY perspective, Pakedge and Control4 make zero sense.
Both are CI systems, i.e. generally for those who want something built and not building it themself.

I also have not see any open source solution that are as easy to pick up and start integrating everything in the home. Sure there are some solutions that have kludgy voice control4 and I do not believe c4 voice is any better. Everything DIY that I have seen, there is usually only one person in the house that can use it. Control4 does sometimes have a little bit of a barrier of entry but with OS 3.0 it has made it easier that ever.

I rarely see it, of course, I'm on Android, I suppose it could be an iOS issue, but I doubt it.

Huffy? I'm just making a point. And MyQ is a perfect example of why Control4 isn't willing to use anything but an official API (closed with consent or open). So is Sonos, so is AppleTV.
Past issues don't invalidate the point - they just prove it.

I looked at the Home Assistant Website for the first time
Contact link says "no support" - not sure I'd trust a big home automation project to 100% tinkering/forum support without an official channel to seek out help (hardware or software related)
If you want to tinker go DIY.  If you want a custom install experience you go with C4, Savant, Crestron, etc.  I am not sure why people always compare them.  Do people compare Toyota and Lexus?  Same company but they segment their target audiences over the two brands.  Why doesn't GMC make a sports car?  I've been buying GMC trucks for 20 years but now I want a convertible, why can't GMC make one?  Its metal, 4 wheels and an engine, no?  Does that mean Ford has "lapped" GMC because they offer a sports car and a pick up truck?
Again there are so many analogies but at the end of the day C4 has a niche market.  Home Assistant has a niche market.  Its not better or worse.  But without formal support and no video distribution it already fails 2 things on my checklist so I stopped kicking the tires.
