Typically, if you can't add your driver *at all*, it's due to issues with the XML portion of the driver.
You should look in ComposerPro's log output for details.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be chromecast triggering the TV to come on in the middle of the night when the wifi channel was turned off.
From memory, it was as simple as turning of CEC/device control over TV.

Control4 does not provide tools to decrypt even your own drivers, and Control4 will not decrypt drivers for partners (dealers or developers).

Yes this is correct, on director restart I get this notification for all locks 🔐 I experienced this the hardest through a 190 reboots in the past month! 😀

Our range here is more than that - but I've NEVER had to 'seasonally' adjust my strike plates, though I've certainly seen contraction/expansion on the door and jamb itself. 🤷‍♂️
But yes and 'rubbing' can certainly drop battery life as the motor is simply using more power.

Unfortunately, not everyone is as diligent as keeping/maintaining that level of battery maintenance.  These locks due require some level of maintenance in my region.  Because we can have large temperature swings from one season to the next -40F (winter) to 98F (Summer).  This affects the door jambs as they expand/contract.  When the deadbolt starts rubbing on the jamb/strike plate, it can chew through batteries faster.  I probably have to adjust my adjustable strike plates once or twice a year.
 
It's probably been 10 years for myself as well.  I originally had the Zwave Schlage locks before switching out to the Kwikset ones.  I have 14 keys on my key ring, I have keys for other family members homes, mailboxes, padlocks, AV racks.  I couldn't tell you where my house key is 😂  As long as I have my phone... I can get get into my house, so it's not an issue for me.

I personally do not like cloud API's, anything that can be controlled via the site is preferred. Have no issues with Kwikset locks.  

I've had that question - my answer is, I've not carried my house keys on me for over 10 years now. It's a lot easier to get a 9v battery around the corner than it is to get into my house to try and get to my keys inside the house when locked out.
 
Note that my lock do indeed have the key option, and no 9v power option - and yes I TRULY have not carried my house keys with me for over 10 years.
I DO have the habit of checking my lock batteries before leaving on a vacation for more than a week long, just in case 😄

If you only have one way to get into the house then I might agree to that.  The fact is, most homes have multiple entry points and the odds of them all being dead at once is very slim.

As the old C4 dimmers are generally rated at 800W max (in single gang/with tabs attached), no.

This makes most sense to me, since worst case, you're no worse off.
As far as advice, I'd go with a forum dealer to have them get it 'up and running' to find any issues you can't resolve yourself.
Also, when you buy Composer HE (which any of the forum dealers can sell you), you also get a year of 4Sight, so you can remotely access your system (less valuable to you with primarily only lights, but still could be useful).

As I've started to price out the cost of switching everything over to something else it's making me think I should give Composer Home Edition and see whether that scratches my itch for now. I'm going to need a dealer to grant me access to the account that they set up for the previous owner, correct? Like others have said I'm inclined NOT to use that dealer again given the crazy setup they've built here. Any advice for how to get this moving?

I wouldn't have an issue getting more rokus from the beginning I guess I expected the installer to tell me that up front, instead of me going on a wild goose chase trying to figure out if something was wrong with my system.    

Is it?  A Sonos Port is almost that much and gives you nothing except an audio output.

Well using your examples....most of those devices (appletv, roku, blu ray, etc) have gotten rid of their additional audio output and are now HDMI only as well.  TV's are really the only ones keeping them and they are forced to for all of the people simply using powered sound bars for better TV audio.  I'm with you though, a simple adapter is an easy fix, especially for you as an end user.  It gets a little crappier for us dealers as those things fail or need to be rebooted constantly after some time.  We refuse to put them in, luckily with a little customer education and setting expectations we rarely have a hard time spec'ing the correct C4 controller vs adapter workarounds.  

And another Roku going into your matrix is really not that expensive. Top end Roku is $100.
