If just using EA1s for zigbee, then I would recommend just using the (less expensive) CA1 controller.

Just to clarify - 20 EA1's is INSANE in my opinion.
One in a distributed system, MAYBE 2 for 20 TVs, then add one to main viewing area, one in a dedicated guest room, maybe one in the master.....
Know that in my house OSD gets a fair amount of use, and for 10 TVs I'm still only using 3 OSD devices, basically as above - one distributed, then one each for two dedicated areas to watch TV (Family room and Theatre)

I DO however want to note one important thing here, and that is ZIGBEE. If your house has 20 TVs I assume it's a good size - in which case there is likely a need to have a few zigbee meshes to make zigbee devices work properly (either because you have full c4 lighting and a lot of them - or you don't have any or very little an you need the coverage).
If THAT is the reason to add more EA1's locally, then there's nothing wrong at all there. Add that it will depend on construction as well - wood build houses with drywall need a lot less than mortar and brick or cement/cementblock .
So there may be MORE to the 20 EA1 story than just OSD (though 20 is still a crazy amount)

this can be done fairly lightly as well.
I would just create a couple lines of code.
    for the front door
    when the front door opens
           if night time
               turn on the light
    when it closes
              start a timer
    when timer expires
         if after 1030pm
                 turn off light.

    as for the back yard
      schedule event happens at 1030
           if the backyard is off
               turn off the light
    when back yard turns off
            if after 1030 pm
                     start timer

    when timer expires
             if back yard is off
                   turn off light

The usual answers to these are:
    1) There are a lot of dealers on these forums that will make changes for homeowners who have equipment installed (or will install the equipment themselves).  Most have pretty good reputations for following up within a reasonable time, and charging reasonable rates.
    2) You can purchase ComposerHE (Homeowner's Edition) to make many programming changes.  It does nearly everything that ComposerPro will do, with the exceptions of: you can't add new device drivers, you can't make bindings between device drivers, and and a handful of other things that are rarely used.  If an online dealer does those things for you, ComposerHE can do the rest.

We've been hardwiring door openers to either a Z2io or directly to the processor (preferred) for years and never had a problem.  We have tons of sites out there with a very clean solution.  I will try to visit some of these sites next week and show you some very good options.

The “hot wire” way has been the official way to do it for a very long time and is as clean as any thing else. This is standard across multiple platforms. Dealers relying on Cloud or plug and play access have been doing it wrong.

Not only does the install base for C4 of iPhone vs Android likely lean toward Apple, it becomes really damning for general population of smartwatches:
    2021 Market Share:
    Apple: 33.5%
    Huawei: 8.4%
    Samsung: 8%
    iMoo: 5.1%
    Fitbit: 4.2%
    Other: 40.8%
...with the 40.8% being mostly glorified fitness trackers and not true Android watches

Agree for the most part with what you say, but this isn't really v1 as there was a Watch app under OS2 but it was buggy and it wasn't supported under OS3. So this is like a reboot of a C4 Watch app.

Somebody's got to pay for it.
    1. just those who use it - 4sight
    2. everybody - markup the products and figure 10 years of developement/server costs per user
    3. sell everybodys data, the popular choice of many IoT companies
If it's "free", "included" then everybody pays.
(History lesson, there was a time when these and more were all added licenses. Processors were cheaper. Intercom, Phone, 4Sight, Major Upgrades were all add on license fees. For example: $500 for intercom, $100 per phone for the app.)

    LOL.  I assume you're talking about Control4.
Control4 *proposed* their large network extensions to Zigbee (which are necessary for the large Zigbee networks in Control4 installations to not get bogged down with excessive messaging) to the Zigbee board, to become part of the standard.  It could have been part of the HA standard (which is only one of many Zigbee standards, most of which are not compatible with each other, due to varying security requirements, etc)...
    It was sadly not accepted.

Probably the lowest maintenance setup I could think of if the local network is rock-solid:
    -C4 controllers
    -C4 zigbee lighting
    -C4 touchscreens
    -Triad amps and matrix switches
    -C4 chime
-IP Cameras with certified or C4-developed driver

Youtube app IS NOT YoutubeTV app, maybe that is where some confusion comes from here.
As I said, the three you mentioned are apps that were indeed already supported before, but Samsung TVs have been very limited in what mini-app driver (calls) they supported. Since the 2021 models, there is at least the ability to get more (most/all?) to work, albeit with some extra work and caveats (user not deleting the apps from the homescreen)

OK, it looks like it's 2021 and later Samsung TVs that can start mini apps that have been installed and added to the home screen.
There is a Control4 KB article about it (probably only available to dealers):
    https://tech.control4.com/s/article/Samsung-TV-2021-Universal-Mini-Driver-Support
I don't think there's any difference between the Frame and other Samsung TVs as far as their protocol, so I assume it would work the same for the Frame TV (2021 and later).
