Is this the easiest and cost efective way to control my garage doors? All have Liftmaster 3800 openers on them. Also I only have 3 Doors at my house. IF i get the four door kit can I use the parts for the 4th door to control door at another C4 location? Thanks

Depends, there are cheaper ways to skin the cat.

What other gear do you have? Do you have enough contact & relay ports on the back of a controller or i/o extender for each door?

Can you get wire to both your garage door track and opener motors to the controller?

Email me privately if you prefer.

the CA kits are the easiest way 99% of the time. Sometimes they are even the cheaper and the only way as well. Even if you can get a cat5 from the your controller to the garage opener, you still need some of the other parts to monitor to actual state of the garage as power outages can casue mishaps.

I would also suggest that you have a camera on the garage door to monitor it when you go to close it from a remote location. Strictly as a saftey measure, as the garage sensors can and have failed.

The kits work great. The deluxe kit is basically two kits. One kit is for 2 doors. You could use the unused relay and contact sensor for other purposes but the limitation is wiring or proximity. See each kit has a Card Access Relay (2 relays built into one box) and a 2 Card Access Contact Sensors (2 sensors built into one box). You cannot separate them like you may be thinking.

You will need to run the wires from the unused relay and contact sensors in the garage to the devices you want to monitor or control. I.E. You could use the unused sensor for monitoring the exterior man door from the garage as getting the wire there would be easy.

Hope that makes sense...
