henniae
With a single HC-300 running your system you will see slower system speed with 2.0. I would not recommend going to 2.0 without adding additional processing power in the form of an additional controller dedicated to running Director. An HC-300c might work but an HC-1000 would be the better choice.
fschaeffer
I would definetly add a HC-1000, but my question is on the gain side, besides performance, which is not an issue for me now a daysWould would I gain besides performance?
RyanE
As I answered in another post, the main thing you'll get with 2.x is compatibility going forward with new Control4 and 3rd-party hardware / software. The Yale locks that should be out soon are nice, there are some other partners working on other ZigBee Pro gear that will require an update. Control4's new InfinityEdge touchpanels require 2.x, etc.If your system is working for you, and you don't want to add new devices, you could certainly put it off for later. Also, keep in mind that if you don't want to pay the charge to update, purchasing a new controller does include a 2.x License, so your dealer should only be charging you labor for the upgrade and install of any new gear.RyanE
fschaeffer
Thanks for the clarificarion RyanOne question I have though, is what if I want to add a couple of new lighting circuits, thus 2 new dimmers - I´m assuming they will come with the new 2.0 installed - will my dealer be able to downgrade them to 1.7.4 or will they work with my 1.7.4 system? RyanE
I don't know if Control4 sells dimmers on pre-pro. I know the current dimmers are all ZigBee Pro, and they can't be downgraded. You may find a dealer or someone on these forums who has some pre Pro dimmers that they could sell you, but after they're all gone, upgrade is the only option. The nice thing is, that other than the V1 / V2 LCD remotes, everything in the Control4 system can be upgraded, from the very first dimmer Control4 sold.RyanE
