Dimming via a programmed button on a non-dimmer keypad

Can a button on a Square Wireless Keypad C4-SKC-N switch be used to dim lights controlled by a Square Adaptive Phase Dimmer
C4-SAPD240-N?

I presume yes, and that is a stupid question but felt the need to ask anyway!

I'm thinking of how to minimise costs for additional keypads. One way would be to swap out the 4 stairwell dimmers for switches (since full beam and no dimming is needed there) and move the dimmers into the new rooms instead.

But I might want a button on those switches to be programmed give say a 50% light in a room with a circuit that has a C4 dimmer on it., or perhaps a Shelly puck.

Of course this would require paying for the reworking in Composer, so the saving could be reduced?
How easy is it to clone/copy a keypad's settings to make that easy and less prone to error or omission?

Yes, any keypad (be it stand alone or as part of a dimmer or switch) button can be set to control any load (and many more functions besides course)

If you have a dealer bind a keypad switch button to a dimmer, it'll give full press and hold/release dimming control, or yes you could have it programmed to jump or ramp to whatever you like on a press/tap

 

How easy it is to mimic keypads depends mostly on what said keypad is doing. But it's not really hard to do as such.

There's no built in ability to 'transfer' or copy a keypads bindings or programming as a whole from one to the next, though copy and paste per event (ie 'press on a keypad) is available. Bindings cannot be really copied, but its so easy to just do them it doesn't really matter.
