Powerview disconnecting after power failure

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We recently integrated Hunter Douglas shades using PowerView, and overall, the system works well without any issues. However, after a power outage, the gateways lose power, and while the shades continue to function in Control4 for a short time, they become buggy and eventually stop working altogether after a few days. When I check Composer following a power failure, it shows the gateway as disconnected, and a new gateway appears in the discovered devices tab. Attempting to sync with the gateway does nothing. The only solution I’ve found is to delete the “old” gateway driver and re-add the shades and the new driver/gateway.

This process is extremely frustrating because each time it happens, I have to go through all my programming routines and re-add the shades. Deleting the “old” shades means losing all the programming associated with them, making the whole process time-consuming and inconvenient. I’ve already tried turning on static IPs in the gateway settings, but that didn’t fix the issue.

I have this issue too. Most of the time a reboot of the hub takes care of the problem.

Unfortunately rebooting it does nothing. I contacted Cindev and they said it wasn’t an issue with the driver. They recommended I DHCP reserve the IPs which did not work either. I also switched which one of my gateways was the primary and that didn’t work either. Every time there is a power failure, I have to assign the new address it creates to the driver when it boots back up. I wish there was some kind of fix for this.
