slptech
I was reading through a Reddit post where someone has used the Protect API with HomeAssistant to enable/disable alerts based on certain events, such as arming mode of their alarm. This kind of automation could be really powerful in C4 as it can be a pain manually enabling/disabling detection alerts. As someone who judiciously uses their alarm system, I'd be happy only getting notifications when the alarm is in armed stay/away modes. I've tried reaching out to the driver developer (Cindev) in the past with no response.
PeterD
That sounds like a really useful automation! I agree, manually enabling/disabling alerts in C4 can be a bit of a hassle. If Cindev isn’t responding, you might want to explore some custom scripting options with Control4's programming interface or look into third-party integrations that could give you more control over notifications. Some developers on forums might also be able to offer alternatives or custom drivers that could achieve this.
slptech
I was actually able to get ahold of the development team and sounds like they are going to try and make it happen!

PeterD
That's awesome! Glad you were able to get in touch with them. Hopefully, they can implement the feature soon—it would definitely make things a lot easier. Keep us posted on how it goes!
