OceanDad
Hi - having issues with a Spectrum/Unifi setup. Spectrum modem goes into Spectrum router. From there, it goes to a Unifi 24 port unmanaged POE switch. Unifi WAPs, cloud key etc are plugged into the switch. Here's the issue - if I plug a laptop directly into the router, I get a working internet connection with an IP address in the 192.168.1.x range. If I plug into the switch, I can't access the internet, and the laptop (and the cloud key) gets an IP address in the range 192.168.50.x What's going on here ? The damn Spectrum router is locked down - it doesn't have a proper web portal, just directs you to an app, which doesn't contain normal settings like LAN/DHCP etc.
Andrew luecke
Are you sure it's unmanaged? Fairly sure ubiquiti don't make 24p unmanaged switches BY96
Cyknight
Not managing a managed switch means not managed right
Solution OceanDad Posted August 23 Author Solution Share Posted August 23 Found it ! Some dumb ADT engineer has decided to plug one of the Unifi AP's into his (hidden) managed switch.

As It still isn't like an unmanaged switch without settings (stuff like stp is enabled out of the box)
