EA5 dropping off network, sort of.

Hi All,

I have an EA5 controller that in the evening stops working with my most of my hardware, such as Android app, tv's, sky box, halo remotes.

However my denon amp still changes the volume. All are IP connected.

Also SR260 still works and that is how I know the volume works.

I can still ping the controller, but composer states 'querying ' when trying to connect.

My network has not changed recently, although it is a miss match of stuff.

Any help pointing me where to look would be great thank you.

Cheers Andy

Reboot your EA5
Just happened again, powered down the EA5 and back on. Still only half working, again app doesn't work, or Sky, triad amp, etc, but LG tv powered on as did amp, all ip control. Any other ideas please?
Is there a log to switch on to see what might happen?

Need to sort as driving whole family mad!!

Have you at least rebooted your router (and the full network stack)?  In my experience the Control4 controller on recent firmware is very reliable / generally more reliable than some networks - and overall your experience will only be as good as your network.

Hi, my network is a bit rubbish hardware wise, but the EA5 had been rock steady. I have recently added 2 Halo remotes.

Also noticed thay although I had fixed the ip of the controller,  I had not listed the fix ip in the router dhcp settings.

I have now set the router and rebooted and removed one of the halo remotes.  All has been OK for a week.

Will add remote next week and see if more stable.

I would like to thank everyone for the helpful input.  Hopefully it is sorted.

What network hardware?

Hi,

I have a sky router through to a dlink switch and a netgear switch.  Wifi is through the dlink and netgear switches and a couple of unifi wifi units.

Cheers Andy
