ejn1
Hi all, I've picked up below for my kitchen tv: SAMSUNG 27-Inch M5 (M50D) Series FHD Smart Monitor with Streaming TV, Speakers, HDR10, Gaming Hub, Multiple Ports, Workout Tracker, Vision Accessibility Tools, LS27DM501ENXZA, 2024 Anyone know if C4 has a driver for it and if not is there any c4 drivers for smart samsung tv's that generally work for basic functionality with other samsung models? Thanks in advance!
Matt Lowe
havn't messed with any monitors but most likely your best bet is to just use ir control. ip control may work if it is the same tizen os that the tvs use, but control4 is not going to help if it does not have a specific driver for it, which it will not. All you can do is trial and error.

It looks like the same os as the TVs so maybe just have to do the trial and error as you say.
zaphod
I wonder what makes it a monitor rather than a TV? Typically the difference is speakers, a remote control, more inputs, an ATSC tuner and smart apps. But this is supposedly a monitor and has almost all of that.
Matt Lowe
a monitor typical has input sensing power control and standby. They also generally have less or no video processing as a computer will do this better than any monitor would and increases input latency. TVs all have a crapload of processing going on and don't turn on when the computer turns on. They also have more complicated os and can crash like my sony tv that i currently use as a monitor and need to unplug it from power to get unstuck from what ever stupid state its in. ejn1
It does say Tizen OS in specs but not sure if the same as their TVs yet. I get it today so will try out in our Kitchen. I think prior year model didn't have speakers if my memory is correct. There are not many small white TVs available anymore it seems... BY96
If your new monitor/TV is similar to mine, which is a 32" Samsung, then it is basically a computer monitor plus the apps of a Smart TV minus a traditional TV tuner. I have one in my office which doubles as a guest room. I got it primarilyy to use as a monitor, but thought the addition of the internal apps would be useful if guests wanted to stream something. The OS is exactly the same as my two Samsung Frame TVs, except instead of the "art" mode, there is the "monitor" mode for hooking it up to a computer. I have never had the Samsung added to Control4, since I mostly only use it as a monitor. However, given its similarities to my Frame TVs, which are on Control4, I assume it would work. This is a link to a monitor very similar to mine: https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Streaming-Speakers-Accessibility-LS32DM500ENXGO/dp/B0D1DSFJJS/ref=sr_1_13?crid=3OGDJT8J94XIX&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.6nBGdZ94kCCUXhOc8RpNyTqovIGjdr25OhoIJPlsB1EPhulTZIctiz5CGFR4SQQW8ea86UpIpmFLUUa3ni8btW9EAmsmsNdtZri13776EFEW4pSOmTxByheyZXEDmHvecuFWpQ1A1afikdkVk-l6p2Cbm2Dl-KgyCpRsqyM6WKaA-OtevjgH35RzaSvuDiU9MSgvfKSzXSnJVBMeUnn93uvtfEYRskIuXZJTdBNVqTY.8g2qotkOFM6oRJ0Sh2vpbnP53Uox81SuvSBOPfTzIY8&dib_tag=se&keywords=samsung%2B32%2Bmonitor&qid=1720282579&sprefix=samsung%2B32"%2Bmo%2Caps%2C202&sr=8-13&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18630bbb-fcbb-42f8-9767-857e17e03685&th=1 Upon closer review, your monitor and this one have the same model number (M50D), just different sizes. ejn1
