pdapice
I am slowly converting from the Caseta line to Radio Ra3 As i am programming these switches in, i am wondering how much of the functionality i want the Ra3 processor to do, and how much i want the C4 system to do. I know that the Lutron processor only has a limited amount that it can do as far as controlling lights, shades, timers, scenes, etc so i am trying to figure out if i just do it all in C4 or let the Lutron processor handle some of it and C4 to do the rest....but then where is the cutoff or breakpoint between the 2 systems would like to hear from some people who have done RA2/RA3 systems in a C4 environment and what works best
Matt Lowe
do everything in c4. one place to look and make changes. also everything will update more quickly. only thing you need to program in lutron is scenes so that if you are controlling many devices at once it will have less of a popcorn effect. pdapice

The only thing i am struggling with right now is adding keypads in. it seems to find all of my switches and shades but not the keypads or hybrid keypads. I was hoping to use them to trigger some programming in C4
Matt Lowe
as far as i remember it will only fine the buttons so you just get single button press programming and connections. The latest driver so auto add everything once you have set it up in lutron. pdapice
HRT
Foy the keypads, hit add control stations on the driver. You only hit add zones. Make sure to subscribe to keypad button events. Make all your scenes in Lutron. Then in Composer mimic the scene in the advanced lighting scene agent, but remove the actions only leaving the on at % level. Then go to the programming tab go to advanced lighting, find the scene you want and program off of the scene is invoked, on the right hand side find the keypad that has that scene and add the press x button. This will fire the scene from Lutron with no popcorning and Control4 will show the correct status of the scenes. If you want more scenes that are not on physical keypads, add virtual keypads in Lutron software and put them there. any time based events I would program in Control4 as you won't have to do a download after minor changes. I am not sure what is going on. works fine in the Lutron software and C4 finds all the other switches and lights but no keypad.

You add the keypad driver and then you put in the keypads "ID" that you take from the integration report in the Ra3 software.
