SiriusXM Driver - Not showing XTRA channels

Recommended Posts

Hello,

New Control4 customer here.  My integrator just finished installing an 8-zone audio system in our home.  We have been enjoying it over the weekend and have been setting up the various music streaming services that we subscribe to on the C4 App.  One that we have setup is SiriusXM.  We have a SiriusXM subscription for our vehicle and it comes with access to their mobile app and online web player.  The SiriusXM driver in C4 shows me all the numbered channels but I do not see any of the XTRA channels that you can see and access on their mobile and web platforms.  Is this by design?

Also get a message, when I select the Favorites tab in the C4 SiriusXM driver, that Live Favorites are Unavailable and that I must setup at least one favorite using the SiriusXM mobile app or online web player to enable favorites in Control4.  Problem is that Sirius no longer uses 'Favorites' but has instead now switched to calling them 'Libraries'.  I do have several channels in the Library list on the web player but looks like that does not trigger the C4 SiriusXM driver to reflect that.

Is the C4 Driver for SiriusXM being regularly updated?  It's not my primary music streaming service but I would like to use it and have the same features as their mobile and web player.

Thanks from a new C4 customer.  :)

I get the extra channels on SONOS so why can't C4 have them too???

As per SiriusXM:

200+ Xtra Channels

Enjoy over 200 music channels made for any mood, occasion, or activity, available exclusively on the SiriusXM app.

As per Sonos:

Additional details

  • Limited to one simultaneous stream per account; however you can listen to a SiriusXM station in multiple rooms by grouping Sonos players together.
  • SiriusXM Xtra channels are not available for streaming on Sonos

Sonos did NOT have them available for me at least as recent as late last year when I last checked.

If anything's changed then I'm not aware of it - but the above blurbs are direct from their respective websites TODAY.

If Sonos is back-dooring them somehow, and SXM is ignoring it - well that's on them.

If Sonos and SXM made an agreement on it, and aren't publicizing it - still on them.

Simply put it would be up to SXM to open those channels up for whatever streaming platform - as far as I can tell at least publicly, XTRA channels are only available in the app or via their own web-app and perhaps via the sxm skill on alexa.
