Good, Bad or Ugly?

By your standards, is this install Good, Bad or Ugly?

IMG_2408.jpeg

The story: TV in master occasionally wouldn't work and then stopped working completely. Same for in-ceiling audio in master bath from ATV (other audio worked). The setup is a single Apple TV that feeds 4 TV's in the master suite including audio breakout to C4/Triad system for in-ceiling speakers in master bath & shower. Hardware is located behind an access panel (a very large and difficult to maneuver access panel!) in a luggage storage closet.  Removed the access panel and everything started working again.

I'm thinking I'll mount a plywood panel on the lower half of the area that's currently open and move the ATV & C4 down to that, secure the wires a bit better and hopefully it should be solid.

Was the panel blocking zigbee reception to that controller or something? If you're using the older (non-WiFi) remotes that were trying to talk to that controller and there's not a good C4 Zigbee mesh in the primary suite otherwise then that may have been the intermittent issue? Just a thought

Thrown together to say the least: tjhat could be done cleaner, and should have used made to size cables, or at least much shorter ones for some. If the access panel was metal, that could certainly block zigbee as per above.

Could the panel have been trapping heat?
Sloppy isn't likely the cause of your trouble.

For the small amount of equipment, make a 'cabinet box' using the area above the orange conduits, and cut it's opening into the panel.
Solves heat, and provides access, and clean up.
