obas
Hi, I bought the Kasa driver through my C4 installer. I have a few strip lights (KL420L5). When I check the the lights on the C4 app, I see the option the change color (although it's not a color wheel but a color bar) but I don't see the Extras tab (with special effects, mentioned on the chowmain kasa site). The striplight has functionality for light effects (I have used it through the kasa app). I asked my C4 integrator about that, and he mentioned V2 of the driver doesn't support extras and therefore hides the extras option. He quoted a line from the website: Hide Extras on lights without extras (Light V2) I think he misread that message. It seems clear that the Extras ar hidden on lights that don't support it. Is this correct? Also what can be the reason the Extras don't show up. I cannot imagine the stripligut doesn't support extras (although on the list of compatible devices). G'day, I was the developer who wrote V2. @alanchow wrote the original Chowmain V1 driver actually (which I basically enhanced and upgraded to support the OS3.3 colorwheel). The color wheel is the old style, and it is now a color bar instead. We haven't updated the documentation as its recent (but they're equivalent.. Color Bar is the new style). So basically, when lights don't have detectable Effect Support, we turn off the extras link. The other KL Series did support Effects / extras though (provided they are detected as LightStrip), so I suspect this should, but its also possible that it doesn't have a known mechanism for effects in the API.. Make sure you hold your finger down on the light, and Extras should pop up as an option. It should be mostly automatic though

Common mistake honestly. Easy one to make, and very few drivers are using extras for lighting either
