ItsMeBMo
Hello all! I recently purchased a new modem to get the internet speeds I’m paying for and I was wondering what’s the best “order of operations” to change out my modem with the least problems. IPS: Xfinity Old Modem: Arris TM722G New Modem: Arris S33 Routers: 1x AirPort Time Capsule (ME177LL/A), 3x AirPort Extreme (ME918LL/A), 1x AirPort Express (MB321LL/A)
0 Cyknight
Ok, well as you have a modem to secondary router, the main thing you want to ensure is that the modem (if running in router mode) is at least set to a different IP range, best to set it to bridge mode if possible. That said... From there.... you're going to want to replace all that Airport stuff.... Not only was it all end of sale nearly 5 years ago, it should have been several years earlier.... 0 ItsMeBMo
Thanks for the info! As for the AirPort stuff, it is old but we’re only getting around 800mbps so they’re fine for now lol (my old modem only does 133mbps)
0 Cyknight
Most Airport upload speeds on airport (WAN to LAN) has ben tested to max out under 500 - depending on model under
