Moved into home with C4 - getting started

I just moved into a home with a Control4 system and am slowly getting up to speed. I apologize in advance if I'm asking stupid questions, but I'm trying to figure this out on my own rather than have to get the dealer to do an in person visit right now (I have at-risk family members).

Everything is working for the most part with a few exceptions. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to getting any of these working. I did purchase Composer HE and have been doing some of the minor settings myself but am at the limit of my expertise now.

- Outdoor camera - this is setup in C4 but doesn't connect (no video when you open the camera in the C4 app). I'm assuming this is related to the IP address due to the router change from the previous owner to me. How do I even go about finding the IP address of an existing camera to set it up? Or am I off base entirely and there's something I need to do to get the camera working.

- Audio in my living room is at 0% and can't be increased. I'm wondering if this is due to the living room being on its own audio source from the rest of the house. There are two CAT5 connections on the wall (one marked audio, one marked Balun). How does one converter TV audio to CAT5 and what is the significance of two different connections for the TV to the C4 system?

- There are two switches in my entryway that seem to do customer scenes/automation (lights and open/closing the garage door). The "away" button works fine but nothing happens at all when I press the "welcome home" button. I had thought this was something I could set up in Composer HE but am not having any luck (system is on 2.9.1 for what it's worth).

Any input on the above is greatly appreciated. Thanks to anyone willling to help out this newbie.

Do yourself a big favor and find one of the remote dealers on this forum to help you get started remotely. If you are a DIYer than you will want to purchaser composer home edition from the same dealer and have them get you started with that. You will find you can do most things yourself, but you do need dealer support for some critical tasks. Again, dealer support is available remote. Have fun!

Sorry. I should have read closer. I see you have Composer HE. Just get some support from a remote dealer and save yourself a lot of time and learning curve.

Thanks for the quick response and advice. Is there an easy way to find remote dealers?

They will PM you on this site if you ask them to (which it sounds like you have basically done :) )

If you are pretty handy yourself with equipment and networks then you can get by without a dealer really ever having to come onsite.     The elements that require purchasing/dealer setup can be done remotely.

Thanks all! I'll do some reading but it's always encouraging when the online communities are so active and helpful.

Little light on info to help.  Cameras could be IP related assuming all other hardware hasn’t changed.

muj is one a few who do remote programming. Feel free to read reviews

you can download Fing for free and find all the IP addresses of your equipment and then look in composer HE to see if the IP addressed match.

your audio question needs more color - what hardware are you using?  Audio on a tv?  Local Avr?  Centralized audio to ceiling/wall mounted speakers?  For the balun is it just for audio or do you have video matrix?

you can do that welcome button on HE. Do you know how to find the action items?  Maybe they deleted the original code when they moved out?
