anon2828
Control4 OS3 with Concord 4 alarm panel integrated via RS-232 automation module. I know some of us had the alarm panel beeping issue several months ago due to the driver requiring an update. I updated and all was fine until now. Now at exactly midnight every night the alarm panel beeps 4 times. Sometimes it does the 4 beeps again within minutes. I try to catch what the alarm panel says and I think says something about SYSTEM MENU. The only change I have made is that my user password was updated on customer.control4.com. The driver was setup and has our 4 digit PIN for the Concord 4 alarm panel in it. All functions through Control4 are working A-OK (arm, disarm, chime on, chime off, etc). Any ideas before we go insane??? Thanks!

anon2828
Looks like when the beeping is happening I am getting History of: USER PROGRAM ENTRY (at midnight) USER PROGRAM EXIT (just a few seconds later) I don't have any known (or purposeful) programming to set this off in Control4. The only alarm related programming is a Custom Button that triggers a lighting scene, locks a door, and arms the alarm which has been working without fail. Any ideas? Thanks! anon2828
I went into the Driver and clicked the button for "RESET PANEL COMMUNICATION" and was able to recreate the midnight beeping. 4 beeps, followed by 2 beeps. Concord 4 panel reads "SYSTEM MENU" Clock on Concord 4 panel also seems to be randomly behind by both hrs and mins. Help...
Jonathan Lee
I've also been experiencing this same issue with v114 on my OS3 system. It seems like the driver is trying to update the time because I've found the keypad showing an incorrect time.
anon2828
Yes - I also realized that is what is happening - the time on the Concord 4 is off from the time on Control4. Seems that the beeping is Control4 attempting to reset the time on the Concord 4 panel - but it is not happening successfully. When I look at the Concord 4 keypad it seems like it is getting stopped short and asking for USER CODE, then just times out and tries again with all of the beeping later. This is driving the entire family mad. Any ideas beyond what I've already tried: rebooted Control4, rebooted Concord 4, manually set time on Concord 4 to match Control4 HELP!!!! Can you manually set the clock on the concord? I had the beeping on the panel a few months ago, but it stopped when I upgraded to the v114 driver. Sounds like you have the newest driver already. anon2828
We have the updated driver, and yes, I can go in and set the Concord 4 panel time and date manually but it has zero effect...
livitup
Control4 is working on (another) updated driver to resolve this issue (again). Get in touch with your dealers to get it updated once it's released. I'll try to post here when it's released, if I can remember to do so. mikeryder
Driver version 116 is available. I installed it and the beeping seems to have stopped.
livitup
Yup, came here to say the same. Impacted users should call their dealers.
anon2828
Thanks very much fellow C4 brethren for the info on the updated driver. Beeping is maddening. Q: I unplugged the serial cable from the Concord 4 automation module that goes to the C4 controller to get it to maybe stop beeping, but resulted in the Concord 4 panel now beeping about BUS FAILURE UNIT AM4. Is this "normal" - why would the Concord 4 panel even know whether or not the serial cable was plugged into Control4 or do I have some other new issue that I have created by unplugging? ALSO: To try to quiet the beeping, on the Concord 4 panel, I went into SYSTEM PROGRAMMING (using dealer code) >> >> SIREN OPTIONS >> GLOBAL >> IMMEDIATE BEEPS (OFF) and >> SIREN OPTIONS >> GLOBAL >> DISABLE TR BEEPS (ON) Not entirely sure what either option does to be honest, but net effect was that the beeping still continued any time the BUS FAILURE UNIT AM4 came up. There has to be a way to get these things to stop beeping even when there is an error message. The next solution may be opening up the Concord 4 panel and removing the piezo speaker 1st world problems during a pandemic, I know, but quietly pulling my hair out... I will add that this is another good reason Control4 should allow Composer HE users to AT MINIMUM update an already existing driver. This is nuts to have to suffer through days of your alarm panel incessantly beeping and require dealer intervention.
