Topfox
Hey everyone, I have a projector that I am using the PJLink driver with on OS 3.1. The projector is using IP control. I’m having an issue where if I turn the room off, it turns off everything but the projector. If I open the control of the projector in HE, I can hit the off button on the projector and it works every time. Using the Epic Systems Echo driver, I created a voice command to turn off the projector which also works every time. Any idea why room off through navigator would not turn off the projector? Don Cohen
Which brand Projector? I know this can sometimes be an issue with JVC, which requires a 2nd 'confirmation' button press to turn off. And sometimes the Projector might be responding to something else going on, like another device turning off such that an HDMI handshake is in process, and therefore isn't able to respond. So, delays and/or repeat off commands may be needed to turn a Projector off.
Topfox
Thanks for the input. It’s a BenQ projector. When I do my programming for the voice command I don’t have to do a double off press to get it to turn off, a single works. Additionally if stay in the room I don’t see any indication on the screen it is wait for a second button press, but I have seen that with projectors I’ve owned in the past. Cart
Make sure all your connections in that room are correct. What are your end points?
chopedogg88
yeah my thought would be that you don't have the projector properly setup as your video end-point for the room...but in that case, it wouldn't turn on either (unless you have the projector configured to auto-sense HDMI signal and turn on, in which case it would)
Topfox
I’ll check. Pretty sure the Audio End Point is the Receiver and the Video is the Projector, but will definitely check. Should note the projector is connected off a HDMI output port from a Leaf 4k matrix switch. Correct. Turning on works fine, no CEC or Auto On in use. Matt Lowe
could be the driver as well. simply solution is just add the power off command to the room off of the room. Wont hurt anything to have an extra power off unless the projector is toggle based and turns right back on after a power off command
Topfox
verified audio and video endpoints look correct. Added a Power Off to the Room Off routine. Will see if this continues to work for me. First test it worked, so guess this is fine for a workaround. Matt Lowe and msgreenf 1

tekki70
i have a similar problem with a samsung tv and an ir driver, room off and the flasher doesnt even flash, but if i go into the c4 menu for tv, and do power off it flashes and tv turns off. i can delete the tv from the project, re add it and then a week or two later the same issue, and the same fix. ive called into tech support for logs, and no fix, replaced the Ea5 and still happening, figured maybe a corrupt driver or load, its a small project so i created another project and it still happens, still have logs running, and cant figure this one out. its also the correct driver for the tv. tried another driver and same results

outmotoring
I have a JVC PJ and I programmed in a initial power off into a room power off macro and then added a 120 second delay and added another power off command for the projector as the first power off only triggers a 'are you sure you want to power off' warning and requires a second power off command. I'm running a IR control though but I imagine a IP control may be similar.
Cyknight
Can't speak for the projector in question, but a lot of projectors do have the menu option to NOT require the second power off (also termed room off confirmation). Might solve your issue.
dynafox
I had the same problem after the update to 3.1.2 with a Panasonic projector and the PJLink driver. I also saved a projector off after the room off.
ILoveC4
After updating to 3.1.2, my Epson projector doesn’t turn off with room off. At least, it didn’t last night. This has never happened before the update.
