mpeccon
Hey Guys, I just had a company come over to the house to do a system takeover (long story). Well, I decided to also add additional things in the house. One of those items were a 6 button programable switch and four of the outlets you plug into an outlet (control lamps or whatever you plug into them). They had no issue with getting them to turn on and stay on. However, apparently they are dimmable outlets. The problem is i have LED upper/lower cabinet lights that plug into those outlets so when they get turned "off" apparently there is still a small voltage that go through the outlets so the flicker. Has anyone run into this issue and if so, what is the fix? For now we just unplugged them because the technician wasn't sure if there were ones that didn't have the dimmable feather (that would solve the issue). mpeccon
Thanks! I saw that, but it said switch so i wasn't sure if that meant something simlar to the actual swich and not the outlet. Hopefully these guys can figure it out! Really appreciate it!

Cyknight
Just FYI, the dimmer version not working well with (low wattage) LEDs is a fairly well known issue - the outlet dimmers are an older generation and have a fairly high threshold for minimum wattage, or the 'bleed' the dimmer has is enough to light the LEDs (all dimmers 'bleed', that's expected as such, but more modern options have a much lower threashold - ie C4's old line of regualr dimmers vs the new one is I think something like a 90% difference between their minimum wattage, the outlet versions however have never been updated)
crazybuppie
@alanchow Will the TPLink equipment work if it is isolated from the internet? strictly controlled locally from C4?

As long as it is within the same network then yes it will work. crazybuppie
msgreenf
don't you have to have cloud connectivity to set it up?

Once licensing is implemented you can remove it from the internet. dealer usually do this at their office and then take it to site. Happens a lot for yachts and restricted government offices. robbie3130
Recently went through this myself.. Ended up going with the Z-Wave module (assuming you have an EA series controller) and Leviton DZPD3-2BW for plug in dimmers. Can confirm the led's shut off all the way with these vs the C4 plug in dimmers as described above.
