sooner2k1
Has anyone else tested their Control4 IP Driver with tvOS with any success? I know we are still in beta on tvOS 13, but so far i've not had any luck with the 107 driver version recognizing/initializing the connection with an upgraded AppleTV 4K. I have 2 AppleTV 4Ks and the driver continues to work with the tvOS 12 version. My dealer recently updated me from OS 2 to OS3, but no luck on anything related to that. He also mentioned that there is another AppleTV IP driver available from Control4, but that when he added it to my system it said it's not compatible with the HC-800 controller. Is there any chance that IP control is going to require a feature only available to the newer controllers with AppleTV tv OS 13? -defunct-
I'd say chances are high. Even C4 mentions to use the new driver for the AppleTV 4k. I'd start planning to replace the HC800 with an EA5 to keep the integration. That's assuming the tvOS 13 did break the functionality with the original IP driver. sooner2k1
On additional comment. The OS3 upgrade sheet suggested it would upgrade to version 111 of the AppleTV driver, but it looks like i'm still on 1.0.7. Should it have automatically updated me? Does anyone have a change log for the updates between 1.0.7 and 1.1.1? Thanks!
wiley
The apple TV ip driver for apple TV 4K no longer works on a HC800 (for TVOS 13) ....now only works with EA series C4 units. Im sure increasingly HC800 owners will be pushed to new hardware. I reverted to using an IR bug and the old IR driver to maintain integration. The only good news is that the appleTV 4K now stays in sleep (the old IP driver kept waking it up) :- ) Edited October 1, 2019 by wiley Decided to add comment on old sleep problem I had with IP driver. lippavisual
Why do you want it to sleep? Uses just as much energy sleeping compared to awake.

JulieJewel
I just had my Control 4 guy out and updated everything for me 3 weeks ago...over the weekend a new software update bricked 2 of my Apple 4ks (while 1 still works with my Control 4 remote) Is there really no other solve than having to have a guy come out and do a 2 hr minimum service call to update my Control 4 unit every time there's an Apple software update? That should not be the case. What do you mean by bricked your Apple TV? Yep ...if you were using the C4 (2.x OS) IP driver then the tvOS 13 update stops that working on the ATV 4K. I reverted back to using an infrared bug and the old IR C4 driver...no way to get around it. I'm assuming you are on C4 2.x OS and upgraded to os13 on the ATV but you probably need to ask your C4 person what they did. They really should have tested that everything worked before leaving! I think you mean on a HC controller? Cause os 2.10.6 with EA working fine with the new version
wiley
Indeed I meant on HC...it does work on my EA. Thanks for correction. msgreenf
