Fcrnk
New to control 4 controller needs to be reset for apparently random reasons, dealer comes out, does there magic and it works for awhile . Have tried the unplug and wait game to no avail. How can I reboot get things up and running other than paying for a service call? Have had the system 6 months and it’s been down 4 times.... also, have a keypad door lock: how do I change the code ?
knowitall
What’s wrong exactly? Should not be doing that.
Cyknight
Coding can be changed from a C4 interface - press the arrow button on the right side of the lock's toggle button. As for the reset - I'd figure out HOW it's crashing to begin with - it indeed simply shouldn't require it.
Fcrnk
Cyknight.... will try that when I regain access knowitall... no clue, tis’ Frustrating to say the least
South Africa C4 user
Dealer should be figuring out why it is crashing rather than simply rebooting to solve the problem. There are various ways to reboot including a couple of drivers that will let you do this from the navigator. However, the real key here is have the dealer solve the (very) frustrating root problem. Fcrnk
Thanks any available resource for the end user to utilize?
alanchow
Your dealer should be working with Control4 technical support to figure out the problem (if they can't figure it out themselves). Without any information i'm going to take a punt. Network problems Zigbee problems Memory leak from drivers over CPU utilisation from poor programming
knowitall
I’m asking what the system stops doing when you have to call the dealer for support? zigbee devices don’t work (lock, Remote, lights)? music won’t play? app won’t connect? or just entire system crashes? do you have an EA1/3/5? knowitall
Also who is your ISP and are you using their router? sonic30101 and Derrick Cain
Fcrnk
thanks for your patience controller is an ea3 use comcast noticed problem when trying to operate the tv; control4 remote went hourglass; wouldn't connect. tried to run tv from app; app can't connect sent log files to control4; they said contact the dealer... have done that... still can't connect as far as i know dealer is working on the issue, but i can't control how that's done... i'd like to know how to "fix" things so that I don't have to rely on the dealer's schedule..if possible. Cyknight
It's rather vague (not your fault) on where the issue lies based on that. IF you only have an EA3 as a controller though, itr sounds like it may just be coverage of ZigBee
Fcrnk
thanks I'll let you know what the dealer's solution is ; when I get one....
Derrick Cain
If you cannot connect to your system via the app, I would suspect something with the network. I noticed you mentioned Comcast is your ISP, are you using their all-in-one gateway as well? Or your own aftermarket router? You can also PM me your Control4 account name and I can see if the system is online. Thanks, Derrick Cain
Cyknight
Ah missed that app part - yeah networking comes to mind.

Larry
Luxul ac3100? Comcast? Hardwired EA3? Dealer unable to quickly solve problems? Sounds like my (soon-to-be-former) dealer. Are you by any chance in New Jersey? If so, send me a PM and I might be able to help (there are independent network consultants around here who, while not C4 dealers, know their way around C4 and are expert at WiFi vs. ZigBee issues, network collisions, etc. Worth every hour at $75 per that I paid. My system is now flawless, I had them do everything @knowitall recommended on this forum, plus Comcast tricks too). msgreenf
