New Somfy Blind Integration - CEDIA release

Saw they are announcing this at CEDIA.  Looks interesting, built in SDDP and has IP control.  Looks like you get motor position feedback in 2.9 or higher (so I assume that means you can see the blinds are open 20% vs 50% or closed, etc).

I am looking at some blinds this fall/winter so this may be an interesting option.  I am looking for a company that does both blinds and curtains/drapes and ones that provide % feedback in C4 for both looking at your navigator to see how much they are open or programming to say open to 50%, etc.

Curious to see how this plays out once released and once they drivers are released too.  I planned on pricing out 2-3 options and was looking at Somfy, QMotion and maybe Lutron or Hunter Douglas.

Options are great. But as a guy that just did Lutron--honestly I couldn't be happier.

I showed my automation to a guy that sells Somfy motor'ed blinds as well as hunter douglas. Mine was the first house he'd seen with lutron. his response was "wow, those are definitely better" from both a quiet factor and integration factor.

Plus there are FREE control4 drivers and everything you're doing above is totally doable.

you use Lutron RadioRa2 or Caseta?  From what I've gathered Lutron is great and usually can have a higher price point as well but that is also because RadioRa2 or Caseta do more than just blinds,  you get other integrations with lights, voice activation, etc but I am covered in those other areas.  So I just need blinds and maybe drapes.  I am also looking for a solution that has a dual motor for the bedroom so I can have blackout rollers and sheer rollers.  Not sure if Lutron offers that but I know QMotion has a dual motor option.

I'm just using the serena shades with the caseta integration! The same shades with different motors connect to radiora2--but there is no difference other than the options that come with them.

Thanks - again a lot will come down to pricing and features.  We were toying with the idea of drapes in the bedroom and I do not think Caseta has drapes, just roller shades.  RadioRa2 can use Sivoia and Sivoia has drapes - at least that is what I am led to believe.

Somfy/QMotion do motorized drapes/curtains.  So if I wanted an apples to apples comparison I would have to price out Radio Ra2 vs the others and not Caseta.  If Somfy/QMotion/RadioRa2 are very expensive and Caseta is a better bang for the buck we just may leave out the motorized drapes in the bedroom.

With your Caseta product - you can program to open to a % such as press this keypad and the shades open 20%?  And on the app or touchscreen you can see the % point?  You have them wired for power or battery operated?  Lastly can you manually open/close your blinds without the need to touch control4?  Some automated blinds have a feature where if you tug say 2 inches down it goes up say half way, etc.  Not sure if that is a standard thing or not.
