Yes that's what I said - they don't WANT to deal with other brands. Their 'reasoning' may be fair enough - but that doesn't mean the "can't" as in their monitoring isn't able to. Panel coding sent out to monitoring stations are all standardized - th station as such doesn't even really 'see' what panel is on the other side.
