twmoonly
Will the tivo ip driver in composer for Roamio/3+ (2.8.1) work on the new tivo bolt? Also does it have the code for "commercial skip"
msgreenf
it will work. yes, it has the commercial skip button
PapaSmurf74
However, the 2.8.1 driver does not have the "Back" functionality. In general this is not an issue as the left arrow functions as a back for all the Tivo menus, the problem is when you're running a streaming service like hulu or youtube. bbassinger
"Back" needs to be brought back. It's annoying having to exit and renter the apps just to go somewhere else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

nebulink
can't believe the Back button cannot be mapped. I came here hoping I was just missing something. Looks like others are missing the same. Hopefully this simple function was just an oversight and will be added soon.
shupp872
Is there any reason not to use the older driver then? The driver I am using (not at home so I can't look up the version) is able to map the back button, and works for everything else. FYI, the channel up button functions as the commercial skip button in addition to the "D" button. This isn't a driver feature, this is how the Bolt functions. I was worried initially because i wasn't able to map a "D" button. So Channel up will skip commercials forward, and channel down will skip back. What other features am I missing from the new driver by using the old driver?

jfh
You don't have the power management option that exists in the newer driver. The older driver works fine with the Bolt.
RyanE
Exactly which 'back' command are we talking about? This is the protocol document we're using, and I can't find a 'Back' button in there anywhere... https://www.tivo.com/assets/images/abouttivo/resources/downloads/brochures/TiVo_TCP_Network_Remote_Control_Protocol.pdf The driver lets you remap nearly every normally remappable key on the Control4 remote to any command in the document, and it would be trivial to add Back if it existed in the protocol. I'd *love* to add 'Back' to the current driver, if it's missing something I can add, but I'm not seeing it. RyanE
jfh
"Back" is on the Bolt and keyboard remotes on the left side under Input, in the same location "Zoom" used to be (though the new remotes have a dedicated Zoom key on the right). It's not documented, but maybe IRCODE BACK would work?
jfh
Back might be EXIT. Not sure if EXIT, IRCODE EXIT or KEYBOARD EXIT Dont know if you support Zoom, but the command for that is WINDOW
jfh
In case anyone is interested the "D" skip function introduced on the Bolt has now been rolled out nationwide to Roamio users.
c4toys
the left arrow, works as a back button .. Yes the old driver did have a back button...I never used it! Just left arrow to go back in the menus'.. SMHarman
No. Zoom has nothing to do with Back. Ok but this thread is about the missing back button in the driver. Not sure how zoom. Zoomed in. Mazda product placement perhaps? So which button on the peanut remote is the missing back button?

Mazda product placement perhaps? So which button on the peanut remote is the missing back button? This back button is not mapped on the new driver. This button is very much needed in streaming apps like VUDU, HuLu, Plex and other streaming apps.
mstafford388
Is the back different than the exit command? The exit command by default is mapped to the # button in the Roamio driver.
