FT: Ecobee and Keen Home smart vents

Got the Ecobee the xmas before last and my dealer said I wouldn't be able to integrate so it's sat unopened.

Just got Keen Home's smart vent system in after backing the project last year. Not going to bother since we have no HVAC automation.

Looking for goodies I CAN use like sr260s, c4 dimmers etc.

Also have a couple HC300s

It's the Ecobee3 "smarter bundle".

To clarify, it can be integrated with c4, but was told with my HVAC system i'd need thousands of dollars in hardware to enable communications.

Fixed typo in first post, it's Keen not Akeem.

i dont think so. I think your dealer is mistaken.  The ecboee 3 can easily be integrated.  I would recommend hiring a HVAC guy to install the ecobee.  Then tell your dealer to install the driver from thedriverlabs.com

I agree.  Something doesn't sound right.  I replaced the  (very old) original thermostat in my house with an Ecobee 3.  I can't control a whole house humidifier because I'm one wire short going from the furnace area to the Ecobee location (and if it weren't for how the original wire was run it would be an easy fix), but the basic functions work through thedriverlabs driver.

And read the install instructions for the Ecobee 3.  You may decide you are comfortable installing it yourself - it's very well documented and straight forward.

Hmm, now I'm all confused haha. Alright, I guess I should revisit then. Thanks all

Hey man. Sorry to hear about your struggles. Ecobee3 absolutely integrates with c4. I don't know your dealer, but I would check back with them to clarify. I would be concerned that they are either being dishonest or they lack expertise in c4.

Check here before you check with your dealer next time.

Good luck!

If you have the Ecobee 3 then just move the main thermostat to your equipment room , then you can connect everything including the humidifier. Then just place the Ecobee remote sensors around the house and your done.
