Codepyro
As I understand it you have to do a auxiliary keypad + normal switch to integrate a 3 way switch(a light with 2 switches). Can you do 2 regular switches instead of using an auxiliary?
Cyknight
No, not really. Either you do an auxiliary keypad or a normal keypad. Now, there ARE funky ways you can use a switch as a KEYPAD (ie the old 2-button) but that second switch would have to be wired differently and setup differently - it CANNOT be wired in a load-controlling manner. Codepyro
How do you convert an switch in to a keypad? All I have are switches buy I have a lot of 3 way lights.
SMHarman
It's more the wiring you convert. Hopefully you have powered at the switch not the light (modern wires)You wire the three way back to a two way with a wire nut on the right part of the travelling pair. You then put the load on that switch. The other switch needs power only. No load. Then you program the switch with no load to activate and deactivate the load switch on keywords. Or do same for a scene. Or get funky with time of day conditionals.
