Bullseye
I have a speakerpoint that i was trying to disable the wifi encription (i think wep) to use it on a open wifi network. Looks something got corrupted in the process. Now it does turn on but the system manager doesnt see it. Is there any way to "resurect" it. I have tried network reset but it doesnt seems to be any progress. Any help??
Cyknight
Speakerpoints can be factory restored via a USB boot stick - made with a program dealers have access to.
Bullseye
I do have an 1.74 restore stick but when I power the speaker point with the usb stick I never see it blinking. I have left it overnight and nothing happens.
Cyknight
Depending on version, the speakerpoint either needs to be restored to 1.6 or 2. something, 2.01 maybe..
Bullseye
It was on 2.x last time used. Any special instruction to "try" to fix it. At this stage of the speakeoint life dont think is worth spent a lot of money trying to fix it. Maybe they wont work with the next os upgrade. Anybody willing to give me a hand?? Cyknight
What software version it was on matters little - the hardware version determines it (IR ports on the back - no they never worked - is first gen)
Tokead
What software version it was on matters little - the hardware version determines it (IR ports on the back - no they never worked - is first gen) Resurrecting an old thread I have a "new" speaker point, which does have IR ports, and my dealer cannot connect with it to do an update to 2.5.3 (the last i believe for Speaker points). The rest of the project is 2.8. I'm assuming that it's pre 2.xx. Is it possible to get it updated? I want to use it periodically for things like Halloween Cheers
Cyknight
If your system is on 2.6 or up, you cannot update any devices that are not at least at 2.2 - it will need to be update to that separately first.
Tokead
^ thanks. Does that mean on a different system or can it be done by USB?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cyknight
There are some specific programs available from control4 to update devices to 2.6(? - or something compatible) but I do not know if that ha one for speakerpoints at this time. Putting it on a separate system would be the other method.
klaue2
You might have to take the controller down to 2.5.3 or 2.2 in order to update it. Or, if you know your way around linux, you can copy the recovery images over and DD them to the correct partitions.
