Garage door (again?)

I searched topics but I couldn't find an answer to this, sorry if it's been answered before.

I'd like to add my garage doors to my C4 system.  Is there a driver for the Myq Garage?  This is a wifi solution.  Or would adding the Card access solution be cheaper?  The MyQ seems to be about $125 per door.  I have 5 doors in total I'd like to add.

I could possibly run wires to the garage that go back to my 800 controller but it would probably end up looking messy.  The area is finished and I don't really want to have visible wires.

Thanks!

Having used the driver now for several months - I would definitely recommend it.

What does it get you over Card Access if I don't care about using the native MyQ functionality?  Only thing I can see is that I might get light control on the actual openers.

Basically, what prompted you to upgrade to MyQ system if you already had automation?

I don't know what your dealer will charge for either option but those card access relays are not cheap either. With the driver you don't need a sensor to know the status of the door - open or closed which would be an additional expense.

My Wink driver pack offers control of the MyQ via the Wink API. The driver is still in the free beta for now. I have been using it without problems for a few weeks now. The next version is going to be really cool. It's going to have real time status updates for all of the wink devices. This means no waiting to poll for the status of your garage door, lights, spotter or other Wink devices.

I get that, but I already have the CA solution, so wondering if there is a good reason to change.  Less parts is good, but there is something to be said for not depending on sitting on top of other automation.

I just didn't like my solution because I had hacked into a wireless garage door opener with a battery - didn't want to bother with battery anymore. I was just mentioning my experience with the driver and think it is really a good option and works reliably.

If you have it I see no reason to make a change as such, unless as said there are compelling reasons - ie want the CA for something else, remote you 'hotwired' breaks etc.

Just keep in mind that the current MyQ doors need either or and can't be integrated the 'old fashioned' way with a simple relay connection. That's annoying, but there it is.
