thecodeman
Yes.....the server ingests Bluray 2D, Bluray 3D, DVD and audio discsHope this helpsDo they still require the Blu-ray disc to be present - in the tray or a carousel? That was my only hangup. Outside of price, which they appear to have addressed in a way with Cinema One.

Outside of price, which they appear to have addressed in a way with Cinema One.Think you're mixing things up, the answer was concerning the DDserver. You're asking after the K-Scape. And yes you still need to have the disc in the carrousel - at least officially (meaning I don't know if there may be some hack available to prevent this). wappinghigh
^ Awesome bit of kit. I might of considered this PirateM.. if it didn't have so many fans (noise would be a problem in my rack location)...and it wasn't so pricy to ship trans pacific.. I have the DDNas.. It's been fantastic..

Hi Codeman......K-Scape needs the disc in the tray or vault if bluray and not purchased from their online storeThat is certainly the biggest downside other than the cost

Hi Wappinghigh.....surprisngly not as loud as one may thinkMy components are close to my chairs and it has never been an issueWhen the room is off and you get close to it you can certainly hear it but again not an issue otherwise As far as the shipping cost, this I'm not certain, if truly interested PM me and I'm sure something can be worked out even though I'm not thrilled about shipping outside the US
piratemonkey
Last question from me Why Kaleidescape over this piece? Hi Kaarchie......K-Scape has always been on my radar since day one, just never had the funds to spare so I've always messed with the NAS units and most recently the DD Server.....I can honestly say this DD Server is the closest to K-Scape as it gets, fun to have fully automated control and not have to spend the extra time, etc involvedLuckily for me, the funds are here and I owe it to that gratitude to Seahawks and Vegas

diamonddesign
To clarify on noise, our 12 disk nas drives are loud. The 6 disck are not to bad at all. The servers are near silent and designed to be in a theater (room not rack) if the end user wants to use the touchscreen there. Designed differently for noise. Both of you are correct (because that big nas is like an airplane loud ).
debauche
I've already ripped my cd's to flac. Would this be as simple as dragging off my existing NAS to this, or would I need to rip them all again to get the art..etc?
piratemonkey
Yes, you simply move any of your existing data be it drag / drop or copy / paste and the media software will automatically recognize and catalog your music / moviesHope this info helps
