phileaton
Hi all,I posted about a couple of other drivers I wrote and unfortunately I have not been getting much interest in them. If anyone knows of a better place to find beta testers for drivers please let me know. Anyway, hopefully this is something more people will be interested in. It's a driver that uses the "Find My iPhone" service from apple to detect your location and trigger events. You don't have to run any software on your Apple device other than the built in Find My iPhone service so there are no settings to mess with on your iPhone, iPad, etc. Events can be triggered when you arrive or leave up to six different locations per device. For example you can trigger lights to turn on when you arrive home and turn off when you leave home. You could also trigger the heating or cooling to turn on when you leave from work so the house is comfortable when you arrive home. Let me know if you are interested in helping me test it out. Phil1/12/14 UPDATE:The driver is now available for sale at Synapse Home Automation. There is a free trial as well.

Ryanjackson
Id be interested in trying it out. You might have more luck finding testers on the dealer forums. Ryan

AdamT
I would love to test as well. Have two iPhone 5S, One iPad Mini, One iPad Gen2 and about to get another iPad (maybe, unless the Surface impresses me enough) Adam
phileaton
Great! I'm glad there is some interest in this. To test you will need the ability to install the driver. Since it's a beta and bugs may pop up, it would be best if you are able to install updates easily as well. If you are still interested send me a private message with your email address where I can send the file and mac address so I can generate a key. Also please include your controllers model and OS version so I can compile a list of supported systems.
RyanE
Cool idea. I'm an Android sort of guy, so unfortunately, I can't beta test, but good luck with it. RyanE

phileaton
Ok. I got a lot of messages with info. I'm going to generate the keys and send out the drivers after we get the kiddos to bed. I also got a lot of messages that didn't have mac addresses so if you can send another email with that info I'll get your keys made. If not no worries I can send out more when you have a chance to gather the info.
phileaton
Ok. I sent out drivers and keys to everyone who sent me a mac address and an email address. If you are still interested or I somehow missed you send me a message. Have fun guys and let me know how things work!

cdepaola
Very clever indeed and works nicely. Played with some simple stuff first late last night like turning on lights when I arrive home and it worked flawlessly. Can't wait to play with it more and see what I and other can get it to do. AHA
Hi Phil, I'm a dealer and would love to try this out. I will send you some details tomorrow. CheersDan
neil12011
Just tried this out, pretty sweet. I especially like what you can program against. So when I leave home if "Wife's phone is not home, and My Phone is not home" then I have the garage door shut and poll the door locks and security. Very nice, still playing with it, so far so good. I like the multiple location options. Right now, I'm using push notifications to make sure the commands fire like they are supposed to. Left to go to the store, garage closed, when I came back, I'd say when I turned onto my street, the garage was opening. I'm really going to push it to see if I can do a full scene with my motion sensors and driver variables and have the house truly wake up on my arrival. Great work! phileaton
I'm glad to find out it's working well after a little snafu with the license keys starting out. I figured out what the problem is and plan to send out a new version tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the help from those who are already trying it.
