Programming a 30 second skip in the Remote

I found this cleaver programming on line. It will program any button on a Comcast remote to skip a pre-recorded show by 30 seconds. (a great way to skip commercials).

Silver remote and a Motorola DCT3412 box:

Choose an unused or unneeded button on the “silver” remote to be the 30-second skip command.

Press the “Cable” button at the top of the remote to put it into Cable Box control mode.

Press and hold the “Setup” button until the “Cable” button blinks twice.

Type in the code 994. The “Cable” button will blink twice.

Press (do not hold) the “Setup” button.

Type in the code 00173.

Press whatever button you want to map the 30-second skip command to.

Can anyone figure how to apply this to a C4 remote ?

That could be easily done. Use the driver editor and add a custom command called "30 sec skip" or something. Then capture the code from the "Silver Remote" and map it to any of the A,B,C,D,#, or * buttons. Let me know if you need more details.
