Large Ethernet in wall touch screens

Hi,

I'm thinking of replacing my 4 inch touch panel, the main one when you enter the house with a larger version. Couple questions:

1. I thought I remembered seeing a post (but now can't find it) that Control4 was coming out with a 7 inch model (instead of the current 10.5)? If this is true, I'm assuming the benefit would be a better price than the 10.5 (anyting else). Also, if true any rumors of when it will come out?

2. If I go with a 10.5 wall built in, is there a specific model I need to make sure I get? I know the wireless hand 10.5 just came out with a new version, not sure if that is the same for the built in model?

There are always rumors about what C4 will release next. The 7" TS is one of the rumors. C4 will not pre-announce products so there is no telling what will be released in the 1Q08. There have been several new products released this year such as the HC-1000 and rumor has it that there are great thing in store for us in 2008.

As far as I know there is only the one model of wired 10.5" TS.

I would personally wait for a little while and see what is available in 2008. I guess this depends on how badly you want the 10.5 " TS.

derickson - take this with a grain of salt, but my understanding is that a 7in touchscreen was shown at the sept. cedia with a price point of around $1,400. i'm sure any of the dealers who were there could elaborate on this. I could only speculate as to when its coming out, but from what henniae said, maybe 2008:)

I was at CEDIA and there was no 7" touch screen / remote NOR any mention of it. As of today, Control4 still denies any existence of it and simple state that they are kicking around ideas for the future. So I seriously doubt we'll see any 7" remote in Q1 - Maybe Q1 of 2009... hehehehe
