If so, what are the main reasons you did it? and would you do it again?Just trying to figure out of the marginal ROI is worth it or not for both a condo and a house install(s).... As mentioned, if you have a desire to try new products or programming features, you must first upgrade OS. Let me ask you this, why have hung-on to 1.7 for as long as you did? Will you need new controllers, new remotes etc. What is the system roughly like (zones audio and video, amount of lighting). I have a fairly basic system (3 zones of distributed video and audio). I've supported myself fine with a single HC-200 for the last four years. I manage a humble music collection (<7000 songs) and an average movie collection (<200 movies). My system is AV management only (no lighting, security, etc). I understand that HC-200B's can be masters in 2.x. My thought was to buy one of these and finally make the move to 2.x. Does anyone have an opinion on how i would fair with a system of this size, with an HC-200B, and 2.x? Do the 200's and 300's alone really suffer with 2.x? RyanE Posted September 17, 2012 Share Posted September 17, 2012 While the whole system speed increases with one of the 'current' controllers, the biggest speed increase is in the speed of the on-screen display (Navigator).If you currently use an SR-250 or an iPhone/iPad/Android to control the system and select media, a 200B should be fine.If you use the on-screen display (on your TV) to select media, I'd recommend an HC-250 (or HC-800 if you were looking to expand I/O's).RyanE Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
c44me Posted September 17, 2012 Author Share Posted September 17, 2012 I've kept the condo on 1.7 because I never use the on screen navigator, and its a *condo*. 2bed/2bath so very small install. the HVAC stuff is hugely improved in 2 so that would be nice, but otherwise I just use the buttons on the 6-buttons as macros with some limited programming for things as well.The house is another story, but given the cost to upgrade everything there, I just can't see the benefit. was hoping someone had a great story/reason/example that would make it worthwhile, but I am just not seeing it...
