xaveon
Hey Everybody!I'm new to the forum. Just finished wiring up the house for Control4 and was hoping someone can provide me with some feedback on the 7 Inch Touchscreen (C4-TSM7-G-. This is the one with the hard buttons (no camera). I'm thinking about getting this one because my dealer has a couple of them (used) that he can get for me for cheap (~$300). I've been reading that there were problems with this interface (Wi-Fi connectivity, slow, drops connections, etc.). Has that been resolved with the 2.2 update? The other option is to use a couple Kindle Fires in dedicated mode. What do you guys think?Thank you in advance!
tebery
I just got a refurbed 16gig iPad 2 from apple for $349 and the c4 iPad app is amazing. It blows the iPhone app out of the water. Ordered a second ipad2 today.

CFUG
I use both old and IE. IE touch sensitivity appears improved over old TS. Speed is subjective and highly dependent on your own network topology. I don't see a diff. between the two- equally fast on my net. I do not like the vague soft-buttons on the IE.
xaveon
I also have the the MyHome app on my iPad 3. It does work very well as long as I keep it in dedicated mode, otherwise it's really annoying when it has to reconnect to the director. Also, I like using it landscape mode. But with iPad dock is always in portrait...I'm also a fan of a tactile button. Sliding a virtual slider on a screen or tapping the screen isn't very pleasing...So is the consensus that the 7" Touchscreen is pretty good? Average? Poor? Any recommendations on if I should get it or not?

xaveon
Ohhh, what about the screen and battery life? How does the screen look? Is the angle pretty wide or does the screen look really ugly at an angle? Does the battery really last 5 Hours or less? Thanks guys!
ILoveC4
The new one is a glass/hard screen, like an iPad. The old touchpanels are the traditional touch LCD that is somewhat soft and dull looking when not lit up.I haven't taxed the battery on the new one yet. The new screen is much brighter, but I never complained about the old one until I saw the new one.You can view them all at plenty wide an angle...but on the old one the screen is recessed a little bit. xaveon
On the old one, does the screen press in? Meaning is it NOT a capacitive touch screen?

Zee
Hi, I am facing an issue with my Control4 T3 Series 7” In-Wall Touch Screen it started to few days ago. The screensaver started to malfunction by going off screensaver without touching the screen. Then randomly buttons started clicking without touching the screen. I have a video of buttons being clicked on and off nonstop. IE Under intercom settings the do not disturb toggle is turning on/off constantly. I am afraid that my garage overhead door or doorlocks could unlock or open randomly causing a security risk. I talked with my dealer, we reset the T3, didn’t work, we erased all the data and content and restarted, didn’t work, he reinstalled the driver, that didn’t work either then he said the screen is faulty and I have to buy a new one since it is out warranty by 2 years. I got this product in Aug 2016. This screen was installed on the wall in my master bedroom. I mainly used it as clock, a very expensive one. 99% of the time I use my phone app we barely touched the screen. It’s like brand new. I would really appreciate some advise. Thanks,
